Dear Lord above, I've seen people removed and banned from pubs for less. She's the Home Secretary. What have we come to?

Please please please see the bigger picture. Many 1000s of people are going to die of cold and hunger, commit suicide from the stress of losing their home. 1000s are going to be homeless. 10000 children will go hungry at least once a day. I wear my terf badge with pride but have to prioritise the harm to women caused by the fuckers in government against the harm caused by the awfulness of self ID and all that goes with it.
I hope to god that Labour wakes up but currently the death and abject misery of many people means currently the focus has to be on protecting the most vulnerable. A disproportionate number of whom are women.

I'm with you on this, FiveMins. Guaranteed food and shelter for all of us more important right now.

The government now is what tories said it’d be like if corbyn won, just ten times worse. It’s so shambolic, on a daily basis, it’s become almost incomprehensible.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 19/10/2022 20:38

Bet the Dakly Fail and Express are still supporting them.

LATEST The Government chief whip and her deputy might not have resigned, MPs say. The letters are written but have not been delivered. #LizTrussPM

I'm pretty sure bounding through thd lobby shouting "I've resigned", usually means you've resigned.

I'll never apologise for repeatedly posting this.

Hayliebells · 19/10/2022 20:46

If my bosses pulled a stunt like that I'd resign. What can backbenchers do to force the issue, mass resignations? Defections? Surely we're at that sort of stage after this evening.

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 19/10/2022 20:46

the decent people in the Tory Party

There's the flaw in your plan. They all fucked off in 2019 after the right-wing lunatics took over the asylum

I wonder who the Minister will be doing the media rounds tomorrow?

Shapps? Mogg?

The Lettuce is going to beat Truss.

A group or PPSs (ministerial aides) who supported Rishi Sunak in the leadership contest are said to be contemplating resigning en-masse unless the PM quits.

However given the level of disharmony, this could just be being whipped up by anti-Sunak MPs to stiffen sinews.

Senior Tory MP: "I personally think she has to go TONIGHT. I've never seen anything like that in my life.

"My understanding is a shedload of letters have gone in today. After tonight, you're going to see absolute chaos. The next 24 hours are going to be hell for Liz."

Ryder68 · 19/10/2022 20:56

It's beyond anything salvageable for the tories now, surely.

Rees Mogg is delusional to a fucking alarming extent.

Am told chief whip Wendy Morton quit because no one told her Downing Street had decided fracking vote was no longer a fracking vote. Her authority was undermined. But government sources say this was "heat of the moment" and they hope she has "unresigned". Gawd

vera99 · 19/10/2022 21:04

Utter silence from the bots tonight.

itsgettingweird · 19/10/2022 21:04

I hope they all resign.

Any Tory who wants any chance of having any credibility as a Tory from this day onwards needs to stand up and be counted.

Sadly for Braverman I don't think her being sacked but pretending to walk will save her after her last few speeches.

However I'm thrilled about that. Her FB is no longer a celebration of her. The mood locally has changed.

The electoral calculator now has her losing her seat at the next GE. A Tory seat that has been held for decades.

Mobiledesktop · 19/10/2022 21:05

The markets reacted badly to the commitment to subsidies heating bills for a year, on top of our huge debts. The mini budget was strange but the government are in a no win situation now.
They don't have media support and you can't really do well without it.
