Or maybe Tuesday at the latest? Would she really want to face the absolute public humiliation of PMQs on Wednesday?

She is known to be dim and it serves all the party members who chose her right that she fucked their pensions.her face is full of Botox and fillers

I agree she is obviously dim. But so many on here were insisting beforehand that she was really exceptionally bright.

tinx · 17/10/2022 19:39

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 17/10/2022 17:04

Wtf was she doing just turning up and grinning like an idiot and then disappearing again? I would be mortified if I was a Tory MP.

@MrsBennetsPoorNerves WTF was wrong with her face !!!!

she looked like a grinning snake I really don’t like her at all

We can’t let the Conservative party members have a vote this time.. they didn’t exact make a good choice last time did they?

We need to end this once and for all with a GE.

Can't we arrest them all on some trumped-up charges and send them to Rwanda? As a concession, they will get a free copy of the Mail/Express every day (only one mind you time are hard) and a visit from Jim Davidson for cabaret night in the hotel bar.

The 'urgent business' was Truss meeting with Sir Graham Brady chair of the 1922 Committee.

Her blinking and grimacing etc etc was probably her processing the implications of exactly how many letters he has had...

Really?

well, he was making a point if he scheduled it then.

I knew the Queen would be meeting a new Prime Minister before Christmas. It's rather sad which half I got wrong of course, but even more sad how quickly this has happened. And the death of the Queen bought Truss an extra fortnight.

Vitriolinsanity · 17/10/2022 19:44

Wrong @urbanbuddha he's just let out a silent but deadly in snap one, and fronting it out in snap two. Not unlike his approach to politics generally.

Remainiac · 17/10/2022 19:44

lovescats3 · 17/10/2022 19:08

Stress unbearable my arse she deserves everything that's coming and more she and the Tories don't give a shit about ordinary people, the NHS etc I honestly wonder about the level of intelligence of some of the posters on here

I didn’t say that she and all Tories aren’t responsible for the mess of our public services. Recognising that someone might be suffering unbearable stress doesn’t make me stupid, don’t be so rude.

Lonelycrab · 17/10/2022 19:46

Gove? He was listening attentively and definitely looked like he was plotting

The facial expression on their faces on those photos speaks volumes.

@Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton virtue signalling 🙄 no just calling out sexist comments, woman doesn't do well in government so we must question her mental health, she's sooooooo fragile, when have you ever worried about the mental state of a male politician and wonder if his family are checking in. It's sexist.

I don't think I've ever seen another PM sit looking out of it like she was today. She really looked away with the fairies, if any of the male PMs had looked the same I'd hope their loved ones/partner/wife would have told them it was time to go.

I do think people were saying Boris looked like he needed to go for his health, maybe it wasn't on MN but I've definitely had conversations somewhere about him not being well.

I hope she doesn't cry when she goes, we have 2 out of 2 so far who did and it would be nice if it wasn't 3 out of 3. I'm a crier and it is so embarrassing not to mention annoying when you want to look strong and in control, you know what you want to say and then you feel your bottom lip start to go.

I don't think she will give an outgoing speech.

ancientgran · 17/10/2022 19:52

I hope her kids are OK, it must be horrible for them.

the80sweregreat · 17/10/2022 19:54

It must be hard for her husband and children
I have sympathy for them.

walkingonsunshinekat · 17/10/2022 19:54

Nothing wrong with a PM or anyone else crying, can be a normal human emotion but i think Truss is poorly and will probably just leave quietly, quitting politics altogether.

Maybe even fix her relationship with her Dad and get some support?

chaosmaker · 17/10/2022 19:54

Doesn't matter which of them is in no 10, the crap we are in now is an accumulation of 12 years of tories and their punishing, gambler rewarding policy making. They are now going on about hunt being capable. I'm sure that the junior doctors from his time as health minister would disagree with that. Remember he was trying to dismantle the nhs back then.

floradora · 17/10/2022 19:55

AutumnCrow · 17/10/2022 17:15

Yup. Penny Mordaunt is a massively ambitious, vacuous, half-witted, plummy-speaking, small-state twit.

You have a way with words! Couldn't have put it better myself (though you missed "power-hungry")

EmmaH2022 · 17/10/2022 19:55

ancientgran · 17/10/2022 19:52

I was thinking that too. That's partly why I wondered if they would keep her in as a puppet. The personal damage to her, her family, and I still think, the party - of a PM going in 5 or 6 weeks? Just too much.

or are these people so egotistical, they'll bounce back?

BirmaBrite · 17/10/2022 19:56

I did wonder if the rapid blinking was morse code ?

You think she's ill?

I don't know anything about her dad, it can't be relevant though?

I feel sorry for the kids whose parents have to use food banks. I'm sure Truss' kids will be just fine.

sunnydaytoday0 · 17/10/2022 19:59

Nice to know in this time on crisis the PM can afford the time to host a drinks reception at No 10 for her cabinet..

BonesOfWhatYouBelieve · 17/10/2022 19:59

can't help but wonder if there's something sinister in the "urgent business".

I doubt it was sinister, just that she didn't want to do it.

How did she get a degree from Oxford?

Mellowday · 17/10/2022 20:00

On a humane level, i am really hoping she has not had a breakdown . Having had a brush with mental ill health, if she is unwell and in the public eye and mentally unwell it must be horrendos and she needs to be supported to step down.
I despise her politics and lack of care for people, but that doesnt make it ok for me not to care as id be like them .

BirmaBrite · 17/10/2022 20:01

That's going to be one awkward party !

Mellowday · 17/10/2022 20:03

Is it a goodbye party?

Vitriolinsanity · 17/10/2022 20:05

On a human level I have sympathy for her, but frankly she needs to sort herself out on her own fine.

On a political level she's a dead duck. She's lost all meaningful support and is not fit for purpose.

Her ego ran away with her in punting for a job she isn't equipped to do. This isn't the bloody PTA or the Rotary, it's a big, fat important domestic and global behemoth. Every decision counts.

And even if your feet aren't touching the bottom in the first few days; listen to your many, many, many civil servants and take guidance before you pull the trigger.
