Constant posts about "over-entitled" children - why do parents not set boundaries.
Everyone seems to have "anxiety" - wanting to do your best in a job of at an interview is normal.
Climate change, yes, this is important, so look at how much the internet has an influence.
Cost of food, stop buying at supermarkets. Get to know your local providers. Definitely stop buying ready meals and cook your own.
Nobody owes you a living and the current government definitely will not bail you out. Stop relying on the 1997 to 2010 run of idiot "socialists" that knackered the country, sold off our gold reserves and created this total mess!
Get educated, if you are intelligent. Learn a skill or trade. Allegedly there are loads of opportunities.
A house is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. Where, in any economic theory, does it state that property values must rise?
Or just be a grumpy old lady, like me?

Troll? (I hope so! You cannot possibly be real. Unless you actually are Liz. Which is possible I guess).

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 16/10/2022 23:09

I’m quite impressed this hasn’t been deleted yet, goady old shit that it is.

Isaidnoalready · 16/10/2022 23:11

Local providers don't exist unless you count bent Bob down at the pub who steals food flogs it cheaply to fund his drug habit he is having a record boom in business

Isaidnoalready · 16/10/2022 23:12

Get educated? Tried it Maggie ruined it Tried it again under labour they were then voted out and my qualifications became worthless now I have to pay which I can't afford

Mezmer · 16/10/2022 23:19

You like that? Well whilst you are dreaming others are out there pulling their weight and paying taxes.

ChaToilLeam · 16/10/2022 23:25

I think you should step away from the cooking sherry.

noodlezoodle · 16/10/2022 23:29

OP you forgot to tell us to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps.

Mentalpiece · 16/10/2022 23:33

Let me think now.....
Hmm, my ' local ' butcher is five miles away. I don't fancy doing a ten mile round car trip just for a couple of chops.
I have no local bakery, greengrocer or farm shop.
Even if there were, I don't fancy coming home from a day's work to start banging pans in the kitchen, plus I hate cooking so I avoid it where possible.
A ready meal suits me just fine. A quick whizz round the microwave and I'm sat eating a hot meal while shouting answers at The Chase. ( Not always the correct answer, but still )
I have my own pension, why don't you op? Bit silly of you.

Thisisconfusing · 16/10/2022 23:36

YABU just for suggesting it was Labour who wrecked the country under Blair and Brown . Delusional .

Vecna · 16/10/2022 23:39

Seems like someone's been getting some real good shit from "local providers"

Mr Brown didn't give it away he sold it and he only sold half of it, to diversify the risks and buy like for like into other financial instruments, as Gold was deemed too volatile at the time. One of the big myths is that the gold was sold and poured into some big black hole created by the Labour party, Which is untrue. The money is/was still there, just reinvested in other, what was deemed to be, less volatile ways.

The mistake he made which was announcing the sale before it happened which led to a crash of the Gold price, so he got less than he potentially could have done.

The real economic crisis is caused by several factors - none of which sit at Brown’s feet. Brexit, as the Torygraph report today was not project fear - it has been hugely destructive to the economy. Add that to the billions missing in dodgy Tory deals, rather expensive vanity projects for Johnson like planes, bridges and ships and the corrupt contracts leaking money into his croney’s pockets and a slightly lower price for gold pales into insignificance.

Hard work and qualifications are very important but sadly over a decade of Tory austerity has polarised wealth and access to high quality education and healthcare. People can’t afford to work in the public sector nowadays and professional staff are using foodbanks.

It would be lovely if everyone could pop to the organic farm shop to buy local produce with minimal air miles. Sadly, many people don’t have cars, some can’t afford Gloucester Old Spot sausages English wines or in-season asparagus. Chicken nuggets from Iceland fill empty bellies cheaply.

Ooh, and 'latest iPhone'

Designer clothes!

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 16/10/2022 23:52

@CaronPoivre I read in the Telegraph, that well known bastion of socialism, that the selling off of the gold with prior notice was a deliberate move. One that saved the banking world. P

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 16/10/2022 23:53

Not sure where the P came from!

OP you forgot to tell us to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps.

Oh yeah, who’s that poverty cookery person who says bootstrap in their book title or website name? Is that Pre-Crime dig at Liz Truss?

Foronenightonly01 · 17/10/2022 00:14

Local providers are definitely NOT cheaper for food - even where I am in rural ‘cheapsville’. Can’t tell you what the local farm shops charge for veg, it’s criminal - like £1/small courgette…I’d do better in Waitrose!!…. but my preference is Aldi!

follyfeet · 17/10/2022 00:27

"socialists knackered the country"

This could be a cracking meme.

Like the past 12 years never happened, Grin you silly cunt.

You've got to be kidding... Supporting your local providers is lovely and all that, but cheaper?! Not a chance!

Our local market is usually cheaper than Lidl for vegetables. It doesn't last long though... needs eating within 2 days.

follyfeet · 17/10/2022 00:29

r u donald with duh little wee hands?

ToooMuchToDo · 16/10/2022 23:08

Troll? (I hope so! You cannot possibly be real. Unless you actually are Liz. Which is possible I guess).

I'd suggest it's more than possible .... now that Jezza Hunt, the most sauve of the Libertarian ji'hadists, has the steering wheel .... meaning all Truss has to do now is thrill us with her sparkling personality and repartee. 🙄

follyfeet · 17/10/2022 00:31

it might be liz with her dead eyes tho, sayin cheerio before deletion!

MajorCarolDanvers · 17/10/2022 00:33

Sorry Liz but this is not the best way to improve your 'communications'.

Avrenim · 17/10/2022 01:25

I'm genuinely dead curious. If nobody owes the OP a living, how come they appear to have subsisted on a widow's pension and a house presumably paid off by their spouse's salary?? I'm also surmising from their likely age that they probably got their education free too...

On a serious note I sincerely hope they've found their meds since they posted....

askmenow · 17/10/2022 01:50

MyHamsterIsSmarterThanMe · 16/10/2022 21:06

Some people like to dream of a better world. The others will vote conservative.

You clearly haven't lived under a Labour Government! Be careful what you wish for.....

Wafflesnsniffles · 17/10/2022 01:57

What year were you born op?
