Constant posts about "over-entitled" children - why do parents not set boundaries.
Everyone seems to have "anxiety" - wanting to do your best in a job of at an interview is normal.
Climate change, yes, this is important, so look at how much the internet has an influence.
Cost of food, stop buying at supermarkets. Get to know your local providers. Definitely stop buying ready meals and cook your own.
Nobody owes you a living and the current government definitely will not bail you out. Stop relying on the 1997 to 2010 run of idiot "socialists" that knackered the country, sold off our gold reserves and created this total mess!
Get educated, if you are intelligent. Learn a skill or trade. Allegedly there are loads of opportunities.
A house is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. Where, in any economic theory, does it state that property values must rise?
Or just be a grumpy old lady, like me?

Local providers are cheaper?

Not in my world.

Sadly nor mine

Ooh, and 'latest iPhone'

And something about foreigners, Muslims running the country and single parent benefits. For the bonus ball we’re going to need something about ‘a gay’.

Manekinek0 · 16/10/2022 21:59

I have set boundaries for DC and they are wonderful. Definitely clever enough to pay into a pension and not be bailed out. Also clever enough not to blame labour for the current issues we are facing.

PlacematsandCoasters · 16/10/2022 21:59

Canihave some if what you’ve taken this evening please? I’m educated, loo,I got at another 60 hour week because we can’t recruit, my Gpis aware I’m struggling with burnout anxiety and depression, I don’t have the fucking time to cook food, hell I barely have time to eat it.

Fairislefandango · 16/10/2022 22:02

You've got to be kidding... Supporting your local providers is lovely and all that, but cheaper?! Not a chance!

PlacematsandCoasters · 16/10/2022 22:03

Ffs anyone that can decipher what I’ve angrily typed will know what I meant. Improbably older than you but I can see the issues with the current economy and don’t try to liken them to times gone by!

What is it with some posters always promoting Labour?
I'm genuinely interested to hear how they will solve all the current problems? (I don't have any connection to either party)
Gangs, crime, poor educational standards, crap healthcare etc

Because they combine economic competence with kindness......can't really say either about the Tories can you?

PutinSmellsPassItOn · 16/10/2022 22:05

You forgot to sign off with ' A grumpy old woman who benefitted massively from idiot socialists and is yet to join the real world ' 🙄

Some people like to dream of a better world. The others will vote conservative.

I am so stealing this! Love it!!

liveforsummer · 16/10/2022 22:05

I love that you think local suppliers are cheaper. I can't even afford wonky strawberries from Aldi and buy chicken that I hate to have to do from a supermarket budget range. No way I could spend the extra for local goods from the farmers market - that's more than the posh range at Tesco etc

The most entitled generation of them all….. bloomer

PutinSmellsPassItOn · 16/10/2022 22:09

As for supporting local businesses well I buy all my fruit and veg from the reduced section. If it isn't in there, I can't have it.....today I bought a punnet of nectarines for 9p. There isn't a local business in the land that will flog me a punnet of anything for 9p.

LimpBiskit · 16/10/2022 22:10

It's interesting as people get older that their politics generally moves further right and a vein of selfishness develops(if it wasn't already there). I wonder what drives that?

…and the lesson here, kids - don’t read the Daily Mail! Bigoted old bag.

Nsky62 · 16/10/2022 22:16

You sound very grumpy!
yes I gave work early at 59, had to, def reasons, worked in care and retail, luckily I could. Have mild bi polar, and now Parkinson’s ( at 60), couldn’t work now not able to. Yes long time divorced, no other half.
plots are not able to better themselves, face facts, and for some money wise it can’t work out.
Yes I have fish mongers, and butchers far too expensive, lovely as they are.
No doubt you have no housing costs and have been successful.

CatchYouOnTheFlippetyFlop · 16/10/2022 22:16

I think you need to be educated OP. I have a feeling you get your education from either the Daily Mail, or Jacob Rees-Mogg.

Bet you also think political correctness has gone mad🙄

TrainspottingWelsh · 16/10/2022 22:17

The local supplier reference is clearly another example of someone that thinks we are all still living in 1962. So like you arranged your mortgage then by depositing a tin of spam and the bank manager knowing you personally and taking your word you’d pay off the other sixpence, if you are polite to Percy at the grocers and enquire about his wife he’ll let you have the bruised veg if you’re a bit short on funds one week.

I remember an old saying

A young person who votes conservative has no heart. An older person who doesn't vote conservative has no brain.

Sadly I think as some people get older they stop having a heart. It's no longer "what us good for this country" but "what is good for me". It's very sad.

I'm in my early 30s but really hope I keep following my heart.

Doubtmyself · 16/10/2022 22:18

This is brill !!

Next prick that tells me the poor just need to work harder, I'm sending this link...

YellowTreeHouse · 16/10/2022 22:19

You’re not “a grumpy old lady”.

You’re ignorant, naive, misinformed and

LOL I am not a boomer, whatever that is.
I have been widowed for nearly 19 years with no pension, apart from my widow's pension and no opportunity to ameliorate the situation as I had to pay off the house.
However, I have never relied upon anyone to "bail me out". Just got on with the job.

Widowed for 19 years. Have widow's pension.

The widow's pension ended in 2001.

You kinda lost me at stop buying at Supermarkets. I can 100% assure you that my weekly shop at Aldi is far cheaper than using local suppliers.
I haven’t visited my local Butcher in months (yes his sausages were fabulous and his chicken etc) but 8 sausages from him cost £4.50, £1.89 in Aldi (72% pork in case you’re wondering).
