YANBU OP. Someone who thinks there's such a thing as 'leftover antibiotics' should not be in charge of the health brief. I thought everyone knew the importance of always, always finishing the full course of antibiotics. As for passing on any medication prescribed to you to your friends - I truly despair.

I think it would be more effective if she did a round of interviews of equal prominence to her statements about abs saying why misuse of antibiotics is so serious, emphasising a) the risk if not finishing the course and b) the utter stupidity of sharing prescription medicines with other people.

That’s fundamentally the problem. Almost everyone competent has been purged from the party, so any government we have now will be largely comprised of morons.

OP I started basically the same thread earlier, you are right she’s a disgrace. She cannot be our health minister.

But having a PhD/being academically intelligent does not exempt someone from being as thick as shit in other areas. I say that as someone with a Masters from a top university who will hopefully be starting a PhD soon. Coffey seems unable to grasp some important areas of politics. I’m sure she’s very good at chemistry.
