Newspaper reports as scathing as ever, and The Times suggesting Tories are lining up Sunak and Mordaunt as a duo.

can’t stand the woman but surely she’ll hold on for a bit longer - everyone was saying Boris would go much earlier than he did. And why on earth did they vote her into power in the first place 🙄

Anyone moaning that poor widdle boris was backstabbed is pathetic.

greenhousegal · 14/10/2022 15:53

I've often thought that Truss is on the spectrum.

She has that way of not listening, forging ahead with answers unrelated to questions, the odd behaviour when talking about "cheese", the waiting for the laugh or clap at her punchlines that often fell flat, and still waiting and so on. I am not saying this as an insult or criticism of those who are on the spectrum, but it explains a lot of her behaviour to me.

the80sweregreat · 14/10/2022 15:56

They have 12 mil in the bank ( so I've heard )
I'd cut my losses and resign soon
Is it worth the stress and the hassle?

If they didn’t want her as leader, why did they let her get to the final 2?

Racism
Then racism when it got to 2

A black woman or an asian heritage man were never going to win whilst rich old white blokes are the only ones with a vote.

GrandTheftWalrus · 14/10/2022 15:58

I have a box of washing powder that's lasted longer than the last PMs.

TurquoiseDress · 14/10/2022 15:59

Hopefully not!

Not been able to do any work all afternoon watching this car crash. The way she fled like a scared schoolgirl!

Sunak has been very quiet, hasn't he? Smirking and making plans, no doubt.

Me too! Just could not stop watching/checking for updates!

the80sweregreat · 14/10/2022 16:00

I've had washing powder now for over a year as standby since the lockdown days.
It's stood the test of time , unlike conservative chancellors.

GrandTheftWalrus · 14/10/2022 16:06

I opened mine on 5th February 2019 and its still going.

Incase anyone wonders its a massive box of non bio that I barely use. I use pods daily lol.

saltnvinegarpringles · 14/10/2022 16:08

We need a general election now. This is getting utterly ridiculous.

Why, are 'rich old white blokes' the only ones with a vote? Even in the Tory party?

Imagine if King Charles is onto his second PM before Xmas!

Dear oh dear😆

Crosswithlifeatm · 14/10/2022 16:14

I listened to the press conference where should couldn't remember journalists names and gave to same answer to all, economic stability in every answer.
Amazing as her tenure so far has demonstrated not an iota of understanding of the phrase.
I don't know how they get rid of her unless she resigns and what the markets need to see is a unified party. Not going to happen, this shit show has a way to run yet.

WatchoRulo · 14/10/2022 16:15

Gymnopedie · 14/10/2022 15:15

Three nights ago I dreamed that she'd gone, resigned. Let's hope I'm psychic.

Ken Clarke is still active in politics, he's in the HoL now. D'you think he could be persuaded...?

(I still believe that Clarke (Tory) and John Smith (Labour) are the two best prime ministers we never had.)

Ken Clarke couldn't preside over such a Brexity government - he's also a little long in the tooth.

the80sweregreat · 14/10/2022 16:17

Everyone agrees she was woeful
The conservatives must be worried , but will they let her struggle on or just cut their losses ?
They must be between a rock and a hard place

WilsonMilson · 14/10/2022 16:17

I was (begrudgingly) for giving Truss a chance, even after the shitshow budget. But making Jeremy Hunt Chancellor has crossed the bloody line. She has to go. What an absolute shambles.

WatchoRulo · 14/10/2022 16:18

Aye planning to fuck off to the USA no doubt.

the80sweregreat · 14/10/2022 16:19

JH is looking at the figures now I bet.
Probably thinking ' what have I done ?'

Ooh, is that back on! Fantastic.

@greenhousegal whether she is ‘on the spectrum’ or not, as you do charmingly put it, is neither here nor there. We can all speculate on her personality and conditions she may or may not have, but your post comes across as a little bit spiteful by criticising her personality rather than her policies. There are also a few points you’ve made that come across as sweeping generalisations of autism and how it affects people. I think it’s in poor taste.

the80sweregreat · 14/10/2022 16:36

I've never bought into the 'thick Lizzie ' thing as she isn't.
She isn't PM material , but people voted for her to be one , so it's not entirely her fault we are where we are.

ClaudineClare · 14/10/2022 16:37

Have been out and missed the "press conference" aka an absolute car crash.

She'll be lucky to last 17 hours at this rate.

Katyaadlerscoat · 14/10/2022 16:42

I have 2 questions.

If Truss resigns do we automatically get Coffey?

Who will play Truss in the docudrama?

mintywinter · 14/10/2022 16:43

The press conference was terrible. I've seen better speeches in school assembly from the pupils let alone the teachers. Embarrassed for her, but also she's wrecking our country's economy and reputation in the world and so really should resign.

DuchessOfDisco · 14/10/2022 16:43

I’m going on holiday tomorrow for two weeks, I wonder if she’ll still be pm by the time I come back.

apparently the shortest ever prime minister lasted 118 days (then died). I think our Liz might end up in the history books one way or another 😉
