Unfortunately this is market forces. My internationally managed pension fund is down too hardly Lizzie's fault. Recessions like house price falls and rising interest rates are part of life they are essential to the wellbeing long term. The problem with COVID bailouts and the great financial crash is these non profitable and sound companies were not allowed to go to the wall. We need these events to cull the weak businesses.

The covid bail outs were badly managed. I know it was a quick fix etc , but it was still all made too easy for some to just claim everything ( going by lbc callers with businesses) plus what I've heard from others too.

Yes FreddyG it is market forces. We, the electorate, don't expect much from the rabble that's weaselled its way into No 10 but we do expect a reasonable level of economic competence. Truss and Kwarteng did not disclose their plan to the OBR, sacked the principal civil servant in that office prior to the statement because they would have been strongly advised against proceeding. They thus enabled their mates in the City to gamble in the casino they opened and make hay with our futures to their benefit. That's not market forces. That's skewing the market, and very likely insider trading too, then attempting to conceal the double dealing in the guise of 'market forces'. Dishonest, disgusting and depraved. They should be in prison.
