To think Kate/Catherine, Princess of Wales, is one of the luckiest and most admirable women alive?!

She’s a Princess and future Queen Consort. She’s the wife of a Prince and future King. Mother to Princes and a Princess. Mother to a future King and the British royal family’s future bloodline.

She’s very good looking, wealthy, has a good figure and wears lovely clothes. She has mastered the art of ‘do not complain, do not explain’. So, she comes across very well (such as how she handled this yesterday: Princess of Wales challenged during royal visit to Northern Ireland).

Unlike a diamond, I can’t find any flaws in Catherine, Princess of Wales; she comes across as too perfect to fault! She has it all and more.

There’s a lot to admire because she seems to be the luckiest woman alive. What does everyone else think?

TBH, unless your informant is a voyeur, they probably have as much information as moi.

Who cares if Willie has shagged every neighbour within a 25-mile radius. The point of interest is when the mask slips, and the Windsors' devoted and adoring public realize that the real people are not a bit as the media pictures them, or in any way resemble the fantasy their supporters are invested in and for some reason want to believe.
The only possible benefit if Wiliam's cheated would be if Kate went rogue and did as much harm to the corrupt, self-serving institution she married into as her late mother-in-law did. Now that would be a spectacle worth watching. Unfortunately, it's not very likely. She seems nothing if not compliant, and in any event it's not all that unusual for people in those circles to have 'agreements'.
Whatever the individual members of that family do or don't get up to on the sly, questions surrounding the future of the UK constitution have been building for decades before Elizabeth's demise. Once the dust has settled on her reign and Charles III has been ensconced on the throne for a while, it will be interesting to see which direction discussions take. Because one thing's for sure: those questions are not going away

Excellent post.

@goodbyestranger yeah sure you have 🙄🙄🙄

I don't see that follows at all, unless you are also a Turnip Toff and know what all those in that circle know, in which case my apologies for doubting your Turnip Toff credentials.

goodbyestranger · 08/10/2022 18:36

sorry KermitlovesKeyLimePie, but sure I have what? Not at all clear what you mean.

goodbyestranger · 08/10/2022 18:25

No Arbesque, on the first occasion that I had any conversation about the affair between William and Rose Hanbury it was when I was told something by someone who had as direct evidence as it's possible to have, short of being either William or Rose. You by contrast appear to only know about the affair from the internet.

As do you.

Arbesque · 08/10/2022 20:30

Seriously, why are you on here desperate to convince everyone that William has had an affair.? Do you have an axe to grind? If you were genuinely part of some inner circle surely you would be discreet? I doubt anyone in the know would be posting gossip on here.

Unless of course they were desperate to believe William had an affair.

Seriously, he and Kate are obviously very happy. Whatever your agenda, leave them alone.

HRTQueen · 08/10/2022 21:21

I was in Italy a few years ago and the alleged affair
was all over the gossip press

the power of the royals even with the internet it’s so buried here but often hinted at

goodbyestranger · 08/10/2022 21:29

Arbesque I really don't understand why you are so desperate. Of what possible consequence is it to you whether or not William plays away? I happen to strongly dislike the fake image. There is no reason on earth why anyone should be 'discreet' if they have utter contempt for the false portrayal of the rf put out by the public relations people sent out to do that exact thing. Thank God for social media and new ways of disseminating the truth.

ArcaneWireless · 08/10/2022 21:38

Aye - all hail social media. And for those putting it all over Instagarden.

Right from the yaps of Turnip Toffs, chattering carrots and leaking leeks. Thankfully they spill the beans.

Can we ^count* on it to be correct?

I yam unsure and have yet to be cornvinced. 😉

Desperate?

Because I point out how unpleasant it is to spread and perpetuate unpleasant rumours about the marriage of people you don't know?

What is in this for you?

Yes all over the 'gossip' rags. But no reliable news media has reported it.

Desperado40 · 09/10/2022 08:12

She looks like a perfectly pleasant woman, but come on, she has hardly worked in her life. She lives a life of luxury and will never have to worry about bills or mortgage. She has produced heirs, need to smile and wave and look pretty.
The royal family, Catherine included could do so much more with all the money and privilege they have. Ok, she patrons some charities, but I feel she has not made an impact and they are quite out of touch with real world. Kate visits food bank example, where she commented how these places are needed. No, there should be no need for food banks in the UK. We need a better governement, we need to bury the idea of feudal society the UK seems to aspire to, better social mobility and redistribution of wealth.

Aishah231 · 09/10/2022 08:40

So she looks pretty has had children and keeps her mouth shut. That's your idea of the perfect woman OP!

Smileeriley · 09/10/2022 08:45

Gosh, I can't rate her at all.

LadyEloise1 · 09/10/2022 10:36

I just hoped William wouldn't be so stupid. He knows how his parents acrimonious marriage affected him and his brother........

Mind you, it didn't stop Earl Spencer. We know that he and Diana were so sad when their Mum left ................

goodbyestranger · 09/10/2022 10:45

LadyEloise that's the exact point that Harry made to him, hence the initial falling out.

I agree she is beautiful and on the surface ‘has it all’. Who wouldn’t want to have access to untold wealth and privilege. She will never have to worry about her children being provided for and on a superficial level she is more or less universally adored. I agree she seems lovely and has blossomed from the shy stuttering girl that started this journey into a seemingly confident settled woman. But on the flip side, she cannot have a career of her own, she is under intense scrutiny wherever she goes, she is constantly compared to her fame hungry sister in law by the press and public, her parents have been ridiculed by the upper classes and she will never have full control over decisions about her children. There is also a pervasive rumour that her husband had it off with her best friend. Whilst she chose this life, I imagine nobody goes in with full understanding of what it entails and it must be very isolating. I’d much prefer Anne or Zara’s existence. Give me the money, but keep the fame and let me eat a burger or too!

StripeyMow · 09/10/2022 22:09

Two! 🙄

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 10/10/2022 10:23

Who wouldn’t want to have access to untold wealth and privilege.

I wouldn't, particularly if its cost was my freedom, anonymity, privacy, and the sense of achievement and satisfaction in using my own brains and being rewarded on no other basis than that of my own efforts.

I couldn't bear to live her life. As for being married to him ...

Gotskeaswr · 10/10/2022 10:24

Jesus, is that you Kate? I wouldn’t be trapped in her gilded cage for all the money in the world. She was pretty well off pre- marriage anyway.
