To think that JK Rowling is a lioness of epic proportions?

I don't think I'm being unreasonable. She's put everything out there to safeguard children in the face of vile misogyny and cowardice from many of her fellow writers.

She also always has beautiful hair.

I admire her courage, her fearlessness in speaking out and I hope every single cunt who has threatened her gets jailed.

SidewaysOtter · 06/10/2022 06:58

She’s a fucking GODDESS.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 06/10/2022 07:01

Oh undoubtedly she is indeed an amazing strong selfless woman who has seen her fear and fight come full circle.

britespark1 · 06/10/2022 07:01

Just adding my two pennies worth - I adore her too! Speaks nothing but the truth.

SheldontheWonderSchlong · 06/10/2022 07:04

She is an amazing woman, a huge inspirational ❤️

treetoptina · 06/10/2022 07:06

Another big JKR fan here. She's never bowed down and apologised for having her words twisted against her and she stands up for what she believes in.

She did rip of Terry Pratchett's discworld a little bit though

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 06/10/2022 07:08

She's fantastic. I agree with her views and the way she isn't afraid to say them.

SleeplessInEngland · 06/10/2022 07:08

No strong feelings either way but her ‘downfall’ is certainly intriguing. Virtually everyone under 30 hates her. I wonder if that reputation is set forever, or in another generation there’ll be a reassessment.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 06/10/2022 07:09

I'll forever be grateful that she is fighting this fight.

JK Rowling, she is a force! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/thirtydayss_only/4649029-jk-rowling-she-is-a-force

Wetdogloveshubert · 06/10/2022 07:14

Ah, but the generation below the current are reading her books, unaffected by the internet. There'll be a swing back towards GC ideals in that generation (I hope).

I love JKR.

My 10 year old and most of her friends are currently reading Harry Potter and wanting all the merchandise that goes with it. A whole new generation of fans are sitting there waiting.

Snowberry3 · 06/10/2022 07:18

She is amazing.
Flowers that's for her psychologist (presuming she's got one to help her deal with all the ridiculous threats and hate)

HackAttack · 06/10/2022 07:19

She is incredible

doubleshotcappuccino · 06/10/2022 07:20

She's brilliant, brave and an important voice for so many getting shouted down or cancelled

SuspiciousBanana · 06/10/2022 07:20

I think Harry Potter is a sack of shite.

However, I think that JK is a brilliant human being.

doubleshotcappuccino · 06/10/2022 07:22

Love her response on Twitter for a call for legal action against her current comments responding with a suggestion for a petition to make it so which she would be the first to sign ..

NoWordForFluffy · 06/10/2022 07:22

frazzledali · 06/10/2022 05:16

She's not going to shag you.

YABU. She's pure evil.

Interesting thought process. Could you elaborate please?

I think JKR is amazing. Truly no fucks left to give. How she stands firm in the face of multiple death threats is beyond me; I don't think I could be so brave. Thank you, JKR, for speaking up where many can't, for fear of reprisal.

Ccoffee · 06/10/2022 07:22

I love her, she is a brave woman.

YomAsalYomBasal · 06/10/2022 07:23

YABU. Her prejudices have nothing to do with safeguarding children.

BMW6 · 06/10/2022 07:25

It's never prejudice to speak a Truth - like no human can change their sex.

Plumedenom · 06/10/2022 07:26

She is brave in the classical sense. No one could fail to feel intimidated by the backlash thrown at her, but her steel is galvanised by qualities almost forgotten in the 21st century - principles and logical reasoning. That's why she is slowly emerging from the other side unscathed. Also however much the early millenials hate her, she has the silent majority of women quietly nodding their heads with her.

3WildOnes · 06/10/2022 07:26

She is very courageous. I think she is wonderful.

dudsville · 06/10/2022 07:27

I really like her and her hair(!) too. I never read the books as it's not stuff I'm interested in, but i also loved the story of how she sat in the cafe to write with her little one as it was too cold at home. She's an inspiration.

Bretonbear · 06/10/2022 07:27
