I don't think I'm being unreasonable. She's put everything out there to safeguard children in the face of vile misogyny and cowardice from many of her fellow writers.

She also always has beautiful hair.

She sold a lot of books before she was cancelled.

A lot of places will drop her. Especially after the recent rant which in which she sounds absolutely unhinged.

She is so out of touch. No connection between herself and young people or progress. The only people who like her are again out. Its so pathetic. She could have been remembered as a beloved childhood author. Instead her legacy is one of hate and transphobia.

You can call it misogyny all you like. The fact is her opinions are out dated at best. Like when you give old people a pass for being casually racist but you wouldn't want a public figure holding the same opinions.

The book she released 5 weeks ago went straight to the top of the bestsellers charts.

Go on YouTube and spend an afternoon watching videos.

If they refuse to listen to women when we say we aren't identifying as anything, we are just female people who need single sex spaces, why should we listen to them?

Anyway, serious question. Why don't the women who suffer from male bodies in female slaves matter to you? The abused women, the rape victims, orthodox religious, prisoners? Why don't you care about their needs and rights?

The problem is, it is starting to look as though you don't have answers for our questions. You could easily prove that theory to be wrong, of course, by properly engaging with the issues that have been raised.

Ohh go on - indulge us and provide some reputable peer reviewed research to back up your assertions.

You know things like court judgments, charity trustees having to resign, analysis of retained advantage in sport, cases like Karen White and Sally Ann Dixon in women's prisons...

Why does anyone need to look for an alternative definition of Woman when the one in the dictionary suffices?

you are the one saying "woman" has a different meaning so you need to say what that is.

I keep coming back to this. Why don't these women count for those blindly supporting TRA demands? Is it just that low status women (as these women tend to be) don't matter to them?

Me too, I just can't fathom a movement so focused (in their own minds at least) on 'be kind' which so thoroughly throws other disadvantaged groups (traumatised women, Muslim and Jewish women, female prisoners etc) under the bus. Where is the kindness towards those people?

Third/fourth spaces are the obvious answer, kind to everyone and the fact that the TRA movement are not campaigning for them shows up in all its glaring obviousness that this movement is anything but kind, or progressive.

People like figtrees are so brainwashed by the Mens Rights Activists, they are so far gone can't see they are on the wrong side of history. It's easy to see how cults take hold. And they are never, ever, ever able to defend their position. Because they can't. And they know it. Handmaidens indeed. Women are worth nothing to people like that.

Well fig came on the the thread and repeatedly insulted other posters made various claims with no evidence and has been rightly questioned. I cannot see where anyone has ganged up but if you insult a group don't you expect them to challenge that?
