Mine is a double whammy, getting married and buying my current house.

The house in particular is a noose around my neck. I'm basically renting it from my mortgage company and it will never be mine.

Worst thing I ever did was but this house with my ex husband. He's a whole other thread.

Trusting someone close to me. (very close family member)
They fucked me over so badly and for so long I spent a very long period of my life contemplating suicide. I doubt I will ever trust anybody ever again.

Having a mental breakdown and not realising the extent of it. I was totally disgusting and selfish, also psychotic and I lied so much because I thought it was real.

Dh's family told him to divorce me because I was so disgusting.

He doesn't speak to much of his family because of my behaviour and how they were categorical about him needing to divorce me. One of them told him it wasn't a real break down because I didn't get admitted after my suicide attempt. I was sectioned for 4 months.

I regret not asking for help earlier I guess. But it felt so real

You did nothing wrong and have nothing to regret. I have been sectioned several times. The first time I was a teenager and was so worried what people would think. (It was very public, VERY embarrassing and everybody in my town knew). My wonderful Mum said "anyone that judges isn't your friend, only your real friends are worth caring about. They will understand you were ill". She was right. Knocked off some dicks who didn't deserve me in their lives. Now am surrounded by wonderful people who are judgemental small minded pricks.
Be gentle to yourself, it takes time to feel better.

Being born!

My mother had an affair, I was conceived. Her husband found out and divorced her. In one fell swoop, I had ruined his life, her life and then my half sisters as she stayed with her dad so I did her out of a mum. Apparently my mother tried to abort me but I was that evil I crawled out of the bucket to spite her. My mother then abandoned me to be raised in a children's home, so I was a burden on the state, total scum of the earth. I'm living proof why abortions should always be available and legal to all

Sometimes just typing it out and reading through it help’s. Try writing it down and then burning it. I did something similar when I had councilling. It’s a way of letting go of either something you’ve done or someone has done to you.

@DimplesToadfoot this has made me so sad. You are a blessing to the world and I hope you know that some are glad you are here 💕

My biggest regret is losing myself to grief after losing my grandparents that raised me, I had over 10 miscarriages and had a mental breakdown. I racked up 30k of debt by trying to buy happiness and kept it a secret. It ended my marriage and I attempted suicide twice. I was sectioned.

I'm now 30, after a lot of counselling, work on myself and support from my DH, we are back together and I am 7 weeks pregnant and hoping my life has just begun ♥️

Lots of love to you all xx

This is so sad to read. You've done nothing wrong. You were just a child. Please try and seek some help. You deserve to be happy.

After a devastating break-up I think I was teetering on the edge of a breakdown as I gave up my wonderful career to marry on the rebound and move to another country. Obviously the marriage didn't last and it was not possible to go back to my previous career.

Didn't have the courage to tell my parents that I thought my uncle was suicidal. Three days later it was too late.

I’m so sorry. Please don’t blame yourself though, it might not have made any difference. :(

This really is a deeply sad thread!

I do think that life is not supposed to be perfect and we have things to learn about ourselves by the bad or wrong things that happen or choices we make. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

for those wishing they weren’t born, u need to know that u will have touched others lives in a good way even if u don’t know it! U are important and against all odds u are here. Make the decision to live today. What can u do today for someone else to improve their life? Give to homeless person? Smile at someone in the street? Hug someone? Text someone that needs a friend? Giving to someone else we make u realise how important u are!! Hugs xxxxx

I cut off a really good friend after an argument (a relatively minor one looking back). I was struggling with my MH at the time and just thought life would be easier without other people. I miss her SO much- we got back in touch a few years later and both apologised and had a drink together but it just wasnt the same. I regret losing that friendship almost daily!

So sorry to those who say they shouldn’t have been born. I really hope you can get some help to move forward.

For me it’s less harsh, but I def made a mistake in giving up my career to have children. It’s never recovered since and now I’m too old to get back to it - plus I have some health issues which means hybrid p/t work is the only option (which is what I do for a pitiful wage). I could get back to a part of it on a freelance basis but it requires motivation I don’t have!

i also regret moving to our current house. Wish I hadn’t agreed to it but we’ve been here long enough now to contemplate moving in the next few years.
