What does the average Mumsnetter look like?

I’ve been on Mumsnet for a long time (under lots of different names) and yet I still really struggle to picture what the average MNetter looks like.

I read threads about things like how most only wear tinted moisturiser and Boden clothes, and because I’m so far removed from that, I can’t picture it.

AIBU to ask you to describe the ‘stereotypical’ MNetter for me? Bonus points for celebrity/stock images for reference.

I think I may be your opposite. I'm short-sighted and hobbit like (with hairy toes). I drink too much tea and listen to too much rock music. I mostly wear clothes with food dropped down them.

How could these possibly be a typical appearance for a MNer? Aren't there millions of us?

MN demographics has changed since I came on here 10 years ago.

Long gone are the days of boden mummies - penis beaker beaker and the daily mail stealing of threads because they cant be arsed to actually find anything decent to report changed that!

No-one is saying the average MNer looks like Joe Biden, I hope. Nice man, but just...not what I was expecting.

Would like to have slightly smaller boobs (pre-menopause was a nice size) but pretty happy with my lot otherwise.

MN local group get-together. I'm not saying which one I am cos you'll all be jealous.

Just like a city full of people, I doubt very much we all share as many characteristics as anyone believes, other than popping into the site occasionally - sites like to push their 'typical viewers' to advertisers, but I doubt that you could gather enough Mumsnetters to form a decent cohesive tribe!

Slim, size 8-10
Age mid 40s
Brunette bob with some highlights
Wears expensive 'classic' pieces but doesn't follow fashions and trends.
Has an expensive coat for walking the dog
Has tall teenage children who attend north London state secondary schools named after posh women or, failing that a selective indie
Shops at John Lewis and Waitrose

The only one of those that I am is slim and size 8-10.

Fairly pretty but decidedly obese.

Well I’m a mid 30s primary teacher. Mid length dark frizzy hair so showing greys spectacularly. Olive skin. Size 16 but 5’1’’ so look enormous. Live in jeans/leggings and t shirts/jumpers at the weekend. Usually have stains all over me thanks to being the proud owner of two under 4s.

I grew up surrounded by tall, slim Boden-wearing SAHMs driving around in Land Rovers and having nice lunches before picking us teens up for extra curricular activities. Currently surrounded by the next generation of them in our village. Very disappointed that I haven’t morphed into one yet.

Bet they’re all on Mumsnet though.

Erm, well I’ve never worn Seasalt, Boden or Joules in my life. I like make up and wear it often..I sometimes like wearing false lashes shock
I’m a sahm at the moment, I enjoy it and don’t worry about my husband leaving us with nothing.

I like listening to 90s r ‘n’ b and house music. I don’t drink alcohol and think wine tastes like chemicals.
I enjoy a massive salad.

I wear no makeup, nearly 80, dumpy, grey/white hair brownish eyes. Grandma, mother, stepmum, wife , was a daughter once, love books, children, animals, folk music and shop at M&S and similar shops.

I have a tall, athletic child who likes vegetables!! But he's a miserable sod most of the time, and just hides in his room (he's 14).

And I do have some Boden in my wardrobe, but that's because nothing else in the shops seems to fit me. I'd love to look polished, but most of the time I look like I've been living in a tent in the garden.

I conjured up an image last time this question was asked and apparently my mind thinks the average MNetter looks like Sam Cam.
