To think the way she dressed was a little inappropriate

I want to start by saying I am a bit of a closet fan of the Beckhams and I also want to point out I have a 13 year old daughter. I have just seen pics of the Beckhams at some fashion show and as always, they all look fab. However, I am a wee bit disappointed in what Harper is wearing. It’s a beautiful dress and she looks gorgeous in it but for me, it just looks a little too old for someone of her age (11? 12?). Am I being a bit of a pearl clutcher here or would people tend to agree?

I completely agree, the dress was not suitable for her age

Arenanewbie · 01/10/2022 09:55

I agree that this dress looks weird for her age and the colour doesn’t suit her.
By the way another strong vote for posting a link or photo when you are asking question about specific thing.

Angelinflipflops · 01/10/2022 09:55

Demented pixie, because no one is forcing you to comment on anything

CourtneeLuv · 01/10/2022 09:55

It's strange because everything I've seen of her so far, she's looked very much a child and they seemed to be keeping her away from this sort of thing.

Sad.

Treacletoots · 01/10/2022 09:55

I think if she actually had breasts then it would be a little inappropriate. However she doesn't.

Would I choose it for my 10 year old, maybe not. Do I think anybody else is entitled to an opinion on what another person is wearing, no.

Justwanttobebythesea · 01/10/2022 09:56

Like it or not (personally I wouldn't let my 11yr old wear it) it has got people talking about it. VB and DB won't let a self-promoting opportunity pass them by!

Can’t you just focus on your own life and stop policing theirs?!? You sound a little obsessed!

Does starting one thread stating one opinion on one dress really constitute obsession and policing their lives?

MintyGreenDreams · 01/10/2022 09:57

Yanbu totally inappropriate

Image for those who are hard of Google

I think if there's a thread about a specific thing there should be a picture. Especially as we could Google and maybe find the wrong thing

This. It is not too much to expect the OP to post a link when they start a post, is it?🙄

Chikapu · 01/10/2022 09:59

That pea green dress is an absolute monstrosity 😬

purfectpuss · 01/10/2022 09:59

I agree with you OP.

The dress is designed to be sexy and show cleavage. There are so many other dresses she could have worn and looked appropriate for her age. I wouldn't have let my 11 year old wear that.

NormalNans · 01/10/2022 10:00

Are there other photos? Because I can’t see what all the fuss is about (and I’ve googled it)

MissHavershamReturns · 01/10/2022 10:00

Not keen on it. Not age appropriate at all

Branleuse · 01/10/2022 10:01

Whats the point in asking opinions without simply posting a pic or a link of wtf you are talking about?
I could google Harper Beckham in a dress and hope its the correct one so i can appropriately judge if this 11 year old child looks like a trollop etc.

KermitlovesKeyLimePie · 01/10/2022 10:02

The whole family looked like they had raided the local jumble sale.

I feel so sorry for those kids. Don't they ever go to school/college/university?

None of them seem to have any aspirations to be anything other than part of the "brand".

BerriesOnTop · 01/10/2022 10:02

11-year-olds are still in primary?

Fcuk38 · 01/10/2022 10:02

My goodness that’s nothing compared to some of the outfits out there.

I think it’s fine, actually, and her whole appearance is refreshingly childish. Hair, (lack of) make up, shoes, all make it a very age appropriate look. There’s nothing sexy about that dress on her because she doesn’t have the figure that woukd make it so, and she’s not presenting it in a way that tries to appear otherwise. I think you can all ease your grip on those pearls.

You said what I was thinking. I have seen dc aged 11/12 at secondary school all contoured up to go to school and look about 20. I think harper looks more age appropriate here.

You see nothing inappropriate in an 11 year old wearing a slashed to the waist dress?

NormalNans · 01/10/2022 10:07

The photos I have seen (including the ones in here) don’t match that description. It looks like an oversized dress which if you have an adult figure would add some shape, the neckline doesn’t expose anything and doesn’t look ‘slashed to the waist’, in fact with the hair it looks more like Wednesday Adam’s outfit

threegoodthings · 01/10/2022 10:08

It's inappropriate for an 11yo and I can't understand why they would want attention upon Harper's appearance again, when people have been unkind recently on social media about her size. 100% that child will have an eating disorder within a year or 2

maddiesmam · 01/10/2022 10:09

She'd have got slated whatever she wore......same with the older boys and they have.

cansu · 01/10/2022 10:10

God that is awful. It actually just shows how deluded her parents are.

Look, the OP starts a thread about how a girl looks in a specific picture of a specific dress but doesn’t include a link to the picture? Crap on the OP’s part, not on the part of those who quite rightly think it’s not very bright to ask for feedback on a picture that you don’t then share!
