The latest in the ongoing saga is that JM has left Twitter after being 'hounded off'. The incident that seemed to provoke this...someone critiquing a photo of her mums roast potatoes. It just gets more and more bizarre.

To be clear, I don't like to see public pile ons and some of the abuse directed at Jack has been unpleasant. But a lot has also been reasonable, polite requests for information regarding her patreon which have largely been totally ignored. And her supporters have to be some of the most cruel people on Twitter. It seems like it's fine for JM to voice her opinion but as soon as others do the same they are called out for bullying. And ironically subjected to vile comments from her followers. Go figure.

Am I the only one who thinks she's probably best having a little Twitter break? But eventually if she's ever to redeem her reputation she needs to show some transparency regarding public donations.

Jack Monroe is a fraud and that's all there is to it.

What started out as people asking genuine questions about her fundraiser and where the money has gone has turned into outright bullying with every single aspect of her life being mocked, even on here people are linking to the tweet of a parody account mocking her hairdo.

I just looked on Twitter to see if she was back and there was a tweet with the floorplan of her house. How obsessive must someone be to go and find that information and then post it publicly?

While I may agree on the looks comments, I think the bungalow is fair game. It's a shitty little bungalow, isn't it.... Oh wait.

It is not ok to post a floorplan of someone's house, it's a complete invasion of privacy and could potentially put her in danger by making that info publicly available.

If you want to point out her origin story, and current tales of poverty are bogus there are other ways to do it.

I don't think mocking her appearance is OK. Perhaps it's fair enough to point out obvious spends on hair dye or cuts if she's claiming she can't afford shampoo but otherwise no.

I think the parody said they were going to stop posting for a while after Jack did her MH post, so that's probably for the best. I think it's better to stick to the food & I was so poor jokes.

The floor plan isn’t right. However she has spent years trying to downplay where she lives as ‘shitty’. When in fact she lives in a very nice area in a house worth £800k (her pricing). It doesn’t align with the still living in poverty.
She has also said at different points she was on a rolling contract and then says she’s in a fixed term 2 years contract because of her ex - who left 2.5 years ago. She also said she didn’t want to leave as it was the first permanent home her son has know (his dads doesn’t seem to count). As with all things, nothing adds up.
My understanding is you can get out of fixed term contracts as well.

Floor plans are available online for a lot of houses, more or less public info these days.

Many landlords would also allow early break if you for example cover some extra costs. There is in 99% a way

I’ve not seen the floor plan post, but I do recall many years ago she posted a picture of her front door on social media. Someone then posted on here that they knew exactly where it was and then said the street name!

Because it's interesting if she pulled out, or if the venue cancelled her appearance.

She’s always been quite flaky about keeping appointments - she’s often a no-show. She’s missed several radio interviews in the last couple of years, and she was supposed to be on a panel at Leftfield at Glastonbury this year too, but never showed up.

Same reason anyone is interested in anything people in the public I do, I guess. If no one was interested, they wouldn’t be famous, would they?

She can’t help oversharing everything. Which is why everyone can see how much stuff she has bought. She gives lots of information about where she lives. I’m sure I saw something that showed the road she lived on and the big houses on it. She literally can’t help herself.

On could think she can otherwise maybe just maybe the accounts with where has the money gone would be oversheared as well🤷🏻

She effectively mocks her own appearance. She alters her own facial and body proportions (badly) to the extent that she often makes herself appear weird. One of the things that aided her promotion as the acceptable face of poverty was that fact that she was an attractive woman and very photogenic. It was easy to promote her and her appalling, untested recipes. She has repeatedly published photos of herself which are apparently doctored - to make herself look ill, or sexy, or studious, or professional- whatever suits her purpose at that moment.

Why would you want to figure it out though? It seems stalkerish to be the one doing the googling and I can't see a single reason to do that. There are definitely people out there taking their JM obsession too far.

That's being an "influencer" or "content creator", isn't it? Part of what she's selling is her image. Playing with her look is part of that. Tons of people do bad filters or photoshopping to try to make themselves look better. Women shredding women for their appearance sits badly with me.

I don't think it's relevant or necessary, to what I see as the main criticisms about lack of transparency about fundraising or occupying platforms she may not truly represent.

We could rip everything about her, but I think it just makes it easier for the more serious criticisms to be discredited and disregarded.

I can't believe this thread is still running, to 16 pages!?! Seriously, who is that invested in JM to care THIS much?! I worry about her health and the fact she might be reading this thread and it is v much bullying and if it was any other celeb MN would've deleted by now!
Why is this allowed when any other thread of a similar nature needs to be "looked into" etc for trolling issues?!

Some eyebrows get raised, it's fact checked, turns out that actually theyre living in a 800k+ house in a posh area of town where the council tax alone is likely more than the average monthly income.

If she’s reading this thread then it’s because she’s sought it out. People discuss ‘celebrities’ all the time, it’s only bullying if people are aiming the comments at her.
Of course people are ‘invested’ in people who are in the public eye. If they weren’t, there would be no such thing as ‘celebrities’. They need people to be invested, it’s what their career is based on.
