Well, I knew that already, but every day she shocks me with the heights her deluded self-confidence goes to

Liz Truss had to be convinced to issue statement amid market turmoil after mini-budget

I thought Boris was the worse but then this witch took over.

Her and her vile chancellor who have sunk the enconmy for the rich to fill their pockets.

The IMF, for the first time ever, have got involved now:

GottaGetOutofDairy · 28/09/2022 05:13

The IMF statement is harsh. It's stops just a tiny bit short of saying: you bloody idiots, are you out of your tree? Your November budget better include a u-turn on all this.

Person18885 · 28/09/2022 05:23

there needs to be some for of punishment for governments that wreck the economy, like when theyre forced to resign they should be drafted into the army or something to pay us back

lljkk · 28/09/2022 06:05

People don't like Raynor and call her thick because of her accent.
Truss speaks proper like don't she? <shrug>

trilobiterevival · 28/09/2022 01:08

another sacrificial lamb, they love to do this to women in the troy party.
quick money grab and she's out of the door. Serves the nationalist segment well, laughing all the way to the bank wot.

she is throwaway, useless, a grinning shark. No one in the part will take her seriously.

I am tired of party politics, i would vote labour just to get these trash out. e are a dying country, and anyone who thinks we are thriving is deluded. Our system is broken and i blame the rags and the electorate.

Agree with all of this.

I did wonder if their “drastic spending cut” will be privatise the NHS.

It’s on a par with “bring back bankers bonuses” and “cut taxes for the rich” in terms of Tory wet dreams.

This ⬆️

That's the plan. And they're not wasting any time as they only have 2 years till next GE

itsgettingweird · 28/09/2022 06:20

inheritanceshiteagain · 27/09/2022 21:54

Please someone shed light on why she was elected?

For the exact reason of what she's achieved in week 1.

Make her mates richer and then make the richer public richer.

She always said she'd scrap green stuff and made no reference to the levelling you manifesto.

Some of the general public could see it. Those members who are benefitting could see it.

They got to vote for it for their own gains.

itsgettingweird · 28/09/2022 06:27

CaptainBarbosa · 27/09/2022 22:33

The only thing I can really think is, The Conservatives know they aren't winning the next GE, so they are going to spend the next two years making their friends and themselves rich, borrow billions, bankrupt us and then hand it all over to labour and say "there you go, you sort it, I'm off on my private yacht round the med"

I agree. Then after 4 years when Labour have my managed to reverse the shit hole they've left is in economically sweeping and say how Labour are dreadful with economy - look how much debt we're in.

It's history repeating itself and even more worrying the British public actually choosing that.

the80sweregreat · 28/09/2022 06:41

I didn't agree with Angela Raynor calling the conservatives names , was ill thought out and very embarrassing. Not her finest moment at all and lost her respect.
However, she apologized for it and hopefully will learn, as we all do by our mistakes.
Boris Johnson, historically , has written things which are seen as very dubious too, politicians do like to shoot them selves in both feet. As the recently suspended labour MP is finding out as well with her comments over the chancellor.
However, I agree that Ms Truss's polices are going to be tough and just wished we had people in power who would work for the people and not against them all the time.
I briefly saw today on the news that the IMF is wading in now too.
I don't feel that Ms truss is an idiot , but she is clearly only working for the minority and seems to be going for broke.

vickibee · 28/09/2022 06:49

Bring on a GE, oh we can’t due to fixed term parliaments unless there is a no confidence vote or truss calls one.

baroqueandblue · 28/09/2022 06:58

I think most or the Conservative members didn’t want Boris gone and they weren’t going to vote for someone who they thought of as a back stabber

Because conservatives are all about honour.

Honour among thieves.

mrsjohnnylawrence · 28/09/2022 07:02

Are they idiots or just liars lying about what they're really trying to achieve?

I get your sentiment but this really is insensitive to witches. I know a few and they are the kindest and most respectful of people. The complete opposite of Truss.

I don't understand why people are shocked that a Tory government are trying to make their rich mates richer. It was always the way.

Perhaps they thought they were part of the "rich" because they owned a "mortgaged" house and a financed audi.

ShandaLear · 28/09/2022 07:05

lljkk · 27/09/2022 21:58

Tim Harford (economist) was at Oxford with Truss studying mind-bending logic structures. It's not true that Truss is stupid in any usual sense of that word.

I have a theory about why Truss makes such choices she does, MNers won't like my theory. My hunch doesn't matter, I suppose. Don't think she's thick just... in her own space. She's like many MNers in holding her own opinions in very high regard.

I studied anatomy. It doesn’t make me a brain surgeon, or anything other than someone who knows a bit about anatomy. Why do we turn into forelock tugging morons when we hear someone has a degree from Oxbridge and assume that a degree in anything qualifies someone to run the countries? All BlowJob’s degree enabled him to do was spout bollocks about Greek myths in his terrible cringey speeches.

Exactly, how bloody embarrassing.

And the bank of England guy, his face when he said "I'll just leave this here".

No honest person with an ounce of financial acumen can believe this.

They should go to prison. How many people's lives are they ruining?

SilverGlitterBaubles · 28/09/2022 07:15

The warning signs have been there for quite a while, Brexit was the turning point. The sad thing is that many people who don't pay much attention to politics (who can blame them) are suddenly waking up when their bills are rocketing and mortgage rates are rising and realising that there's a bunch of dangerous idiots in charge.

I think it's a kind of self preservation thing here where we actually just want to believe that there are clever people in charge that will act in our best interests, the alternative is too much to cope with especially after the last few years. You think they couldn't do that, they wouldn't but sadly it looks like they can and they will.

Buckle up people.

The fixed term parliament act has been repealed. There just has to be an election every 5 years

Kennykenkencat · 28/09/2022 02:26

I never wanted Boris gone because I could see this type of thing happening.

Its like Labour taking over.

Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner don’t inspire me as World Leaders.

Be careful of what you wish for. You might just get it.

OMG Are you actually for real.
Boris was a philandering liar.
He's been replaced by a psychopath who knows her time in office will be short and is screwing the country as quickly as she can (to the extent that the IMF has waded in to express concerns).

Kier Starmer has integrity, is stable and has the interests of everyone at heart.

But he doesn't inspire you 😂

Tayegete · 28/09/2022 07:26

Livelovebehappy · 27/09/2022 23:44

The problem is there’s no alternative prospective leader we have confidence in, in any of the parties. Labour or Tory, all clowns. They’re all a shower of shit with not a clue between them. People turn to the Tories because the alternative is unthinkable. There needs to be another party out there which can offer us what we want. But there’s no-one.

But this exact thinking is why the Tories keep getting in. I didn’t vote labour when Jeremy Corbyn was leader but Keir Starmer is a credible candidate. He would be a million times better than what we have. If people don’t vote for him out of some misguided they are all shit thinking we will end up with more of the same.

BirmaBrite · 28/09/2022 07:28

@Kennykenkencat Its like Labour taking over.

How is a right wing, elected by Conservative party members, PM, screwing the economy sideways, anything like Labour taking over ?

Skipsaway · 28/09/2022 07:29

GreenLunchBox · 27/09/2022 22:02

Exactly! In the job 20 days and 12 of those were on hold because the queen died. So literally 8 days in she manages to crash the economy. Amazing.

I'd LOVE to know what her dad thinks.

He's not impressed and will not speak about her!

itsgettingweird · 28/09/2022 07:36

I think you missed the irony. Admittedly it's difficult to tell these days!

I know. It's a scary world when satire has become reality
