This poor girl.

I've got three DDs I can't imagine how I'd be if this had happened to one of them.

Primark staff were helpful but say it's happened previously.

No shit, predators are of course going to prey on easy access semi clothed women.

We need to rise and revolt.

Did I say assaults will happen no matter what? Can you quote that? At no point were those words typed.

For clarity (in case anyone except you were confused there), I was paraphrasing. As I said I couldn't be arsed going back to dig out the relevant posts that you brought up as evidence for being called a rape apologist - which didn't happen!, but if you want to feel free and I'll amend my statement to include the phrases as written Hmm

I'd still stand by what I'm saying.

Keyansier · 25/09/2022 21:33

This is the quote. Not offensive at all IMO (and it hasn't been deleted, so MN didn't think so either, if it was reported):

Pumperthepumper · Today 18:27
No, I don’t do any of those things. But I don’t agree that single sex spaces stop every single sexual predator, because they don’t.

ReneBumsWombats · Today 18:38
Nothing stops every single sexual predator, don't be ridiculous. But there are safeguards that will dramatically reduce the number.
Is this the "women get raped anyway so who cares if they get raped more" thing?

There is nothing offensive here that I can see either.

In fact @ReneBumsWombats clearly didn't state you were a rape apologist at all and I think you should apologise and stop derailing by attacking her because your arguments are as thin as water soup.

HatThatWearsYou · 25/09/2022 21:39

Sorry have assumed @ReneBumsWombats is a woman.

ReneBumsWombats · 25/09/2022 21:41

It's amazing that Pumper can infer "rape apologist" from my asking her about the "women get raped anyway" argument, which absolutely is a thing...

...yet can't see how I inferred "you are transphobic and brought up trans people" from her telling me that trans people weren't involved in the incident and that I must think she is a TRA.

I am 🙂 The name is an in-joke.

HatThatWearsYou · 25/09/2022 21:42

It's such a daft attempt to reduce an argument when you say stuff like "But I don’t agree that single sex spaces stop every single sexual predator, because they don’t."

When literally no one has said that anywhere. It's so so transparent.

Single sex spaces have proven time and again the safest option for women for various reasons. To suggest otherwise is either being willfully blind or disingenuous.

I think I’m going to leave this thread now. I clearly haven’t put my point across well and the attacks are getting a bit much. I’ll leave you to it.

Phew! I like the name Grin

Well we can all see what's going on here can't we. It's not hard and I'm not even that clever really. If I can see it others can, and that's a good thing in my book even if it is infuriating at times to read.

You're not the victim pumper.

And you're right you haven't put your point across well unless it is that women should appease males at all costs.

You've put it across excellently in the sense that we can all clearly see what you're trying to do. What you mean is, you've done a terrible job of trying to disguise it.

You haven't been attacked Hmm What has happened is your arguments came up against more robust, well thought, reasoned and logical counter arguments... and you didn't like it.

Argument is not attack. Words are not literal violence and all that jazz.

If transwomen are excluded from "Women's Spaces", then where do the transmen go? Obviously, they must use "Women's Spaces" because they are women. Surely it is easy for a cis man who wants to molest women to try and pass as a Transman.

Campaign for a 3rd space then, or it could be unisex and female (plus children) only. Transmen and transwomen can go in with the men.

RootinandTootin · 25/09/2022 22:37

i feel like there should be 3 options (male/female/mixed or undefined).I hate political ideology being forced on people whilst squashing the rights of women.

holidaynightmare · 26/09/2022 00:44

I mean primark is full of absolute crap made in sweat shops in the most unethical way I would never buy anything from them but this is just horrendous.

HatThatWearsYou · 26/09/2022 17:44

Had a read of the other thread in the naughty corner about this and it would appear that Primark have had an issue with this for some time and it's just been swept under the collective carpet as per usual.

I feel so sorry for this most recent young girl but fear she won't be the last women this happens to in Primark. They just don't want to know.

scorpiogirly · 26/09/2022 18:54

Pixiedust1234 · 25/09/2022 12:18

The same way you can spot a rapist.

You can't. Which is why mixed sex doesn't work. And people forget about those who can't mix due to religious beliefs or who have been raped and really really don't want to strip down to underwear with a male outside a flimsy curtain.

This!

CatsandFish · 27/09/2022 05:37

LetMeSpeak · 25/09/2022 19:41

I agree. But with the growing popularity of surgery it’s becoming harder and harder to tell .

97% of transwomen retain their penis and testicles. Surgery is not popular at all. Probably because it costs from 100 to 200k upwards and most people don't have that kind of money. And as I said earlier, it is incredibly easy to tell a male from a female. Almost impossible to to be able to tell.

CatsandFish · 27/09/2022 05:55

*almost impossible not to be able to tell, that should read.

Baldieheid · 27/09/2022 08:48

I don't understand this insistence that we can't believe our eyes and ears when it comes to correctly identifying a stranger's sex. I'm so bloody tired of it.
