This poor girl.

I've got three DDs I can't imagine how I'd be if this had happened to one of them.

Primark staff were helpful but say it's happened previously.

No shit, predators are of course going to prey on easy access semi clothed women.

We need to rise and revolt.

Even with lockable doors there’s an excuse for people to be there. This happened to me back in January at a swimming pool when a naked bloke “accidentally” was stood out side his cubicle. I’ve not been back since

I’m not the one who brought up trans people, the very first poster on this thread did. Are you denying that this thread has anything to do with trans people? Or did you miss it when you were calling me a rape apologist?

Why are you demanding that I justify someone else's post? If you've got an issue with that poster, take it up with her.

Is complete deflection all you've got now that the rest of your disingenuousness has been so thoroughly torn asunder?

I’m not the one being disingenuous here.

And it's still not a great work around for those of certain religions either.

Those women are I don't know? Just not use cubicles. Shop at home, don't use the leisure centres etc I suppose. Not really a great solution.

By some peoples thinking how would the lockable cubicles prevent flashing, voyeurism or assault anyway? You know predators being determined and all, so why offer it as a solution. The logic doesn't work.

No? Well alright if you say so. I think most of us would disagree.

But lockable cubicles would prevent those things, wouldn’t they?

@Pumperthepumper I'm still interested to know how your internal logic works by stating that single sex spaces wouldn't stop predators but lockable cubicles would.

As illustrated by this poster, the lock on her cubicle didn't prevent her from being subjected to flashing.

We need to vote with our feet and stop buying from shops endorsing this.

I’m all for inclusion and genuine trans people using the changing room they feel appropriate to them.

But random men roaming around a room where undressed women are only separated by a curtain is a disgrace.

We'll, I'm not. I'm all for everyone using the changing facilities corresponding with their sex.

I do not want transwomen, genuine, nefarious or anywhere in between, in female spaces.

Pumperthepumper · 25/09/2022 20:16

HatThatWearsYou · 25/09/2022 20:07

Would they?

I think they would, certainly more than a curtain would, which is what the woman in the video had.

HatThatWearsYou · 25/09/2022 20:16

@Pumperthepumper I mean it was right there on the same page, in the quote of that post of mine you then quoted... but you're not the one being disingenuous right?

Teenyliving · 25/09/2022 12:19

I am also very happy for any female who feels they are trans to share female spaces

anyone with a dick can, however, fuck off. And then duck off some more.

Yes, of course. All females are welcome in female spaces: even Mansfield fans 😚

No, the lockable cubical didn’t work then.

HatThatWearsYou · 25/09/2022 20:18

Yes. Or at least, I’m assuming so, since a door gives more protection than a curtain.

Duchess379 · 25/09/2022 20:22

It's a bloody minefield! I have 2 friends who have had 'gender reassignments' from men to women & I feel totally comfortable discussing women's issues & changing around them. But if I was in a public changing room & a man in a dress came into my cubicle, I wouldn't be happy.
Yet again it's men oppressing women's rights. 😶

HatThatWearsYou · 25/09/2022 20:22

Pumperthepumper · 25/09/2022 20:19

So you do understand the concept of reducing the likely hood of something happening then.

Funny that how you can understand now but couldn't grasp the exact same concept earlier when having it repeatedly explained that single sex spaces will greatly reduce the occurrences of flashing, voyeurism, assaults etc Hmm

I mean it's great to see in a way, hopefully shining a light on stuff like this can help others see how the arguments don't stand up under scrutiny.

Single sex spaces is the foundation that we need to get back to in order to build from. Unisex spaces is just allowing the door open a crack for predators to have an excuse for being there.

Start with single sex spaces, it's really the only sane answer.

Why wouldn’t unisex, individual cubicles with security work though?

What have you suddenly got against male, female and unisex? You claimed to be all for it earlier.

I don’t have anything against it. I’m asking why single sex would work better than lockable doors with security.

If you're in favour of single sex spaces, why are you trying to undermine them, with questions that have been answered at length several times already?

And why did you bring up trans people with me when I never mentioned them?

HatThatWearsYou · 25/09/2022 20:36

Pumperthepumper · 25/09/2022 20:26

Why wouldn’t unisex, individual cubicles with security work though?

Because of religious reasons, because a woman has suffered trauma and all the other reasons GC people have already repeatedly stated.

Because having unisex spaces means penis in women only spaces.
That is just another way of saying, flashing/voyeurism or assault might happen occasionally but we are ok with those odds.

Because what happens when the guard goes on break, or isn't paying attention, is distracted, or just doesn't care.

Because what about the tiny hidden cameras you can get easily these days.

Because what about the times when a small, quiet, locked and private area is the last place you would want to be.

Because there is more safety in: Numbers of women, in women's only spaces even just with flimsy curtains.
Than: Male bodied people being allowed in women's spaces, regardless of the measures taken to ostensibly keep women safe.

Single sex spaces says that we are not ok with it happening at all, so penis doesn't belong in women only spaces

The above isn't an exhaustive list either. I'm sure there are other reasons that I could articulate if I sat and thought about it for, oh I don't now 2 seconds.

You say you're GC but are not understanding some foundational concepts apparently.

Thelnebriati · 25/09/2022 20:36

I recognise that posters name and I'm getting deja vu.
