Madonnas Instagram just popped up on my feed.

erm.

is it genuine? She has had so much work done that she looks about 25 - in the pics - I imagine in real life it looks kinda weird.

and it all seems to be some kind of weird porn inspired vibe - but in a very clunky and unsubtle way.

I am genuinely shocked. I haven’t really seen anything of her for quite a while.

is this a surprise to anyone else or have I been totally out of the loop??

And maybe she’s just happy being a creep! Her rules, her money, her face. I’m more into the Chrissy hynde school of aging, I’m fine with me. I find myself attractive the way I am, I don’t need to change me. If someone disagrees it’s their feckin problem.

She looks horrific. The practitioners who continue who continue to do work on her face are unethical.

I'm sure they're happy to accept the vast amounts she pays them. Ethical won't even cross their minds .

I don’t understand why she wants to look so bloated. It hides her naturally beautiful bone structure.

For ages she had little bits of botox and little bits of filler. But seemed eager to retain her look than to alter it. But I think a combo of turning 60 and seeing people like Lady Gaga enjoy the career she used to have (bet she was madly jealous over Gaga’s Oscar nom) must have caused her to have some kind of crisis. And this is the end result.

Gaga doesn't have the career Madonna has.

Lol - I doubt Madonna would be jealous of any other singer. She’s the most successful female recording artist of all time! There are lots of successful musicians who will be forgotten in a decade or two. She’s gone way beyond that - she’s an icon and will go down in the history books.

It’s a big issue for her, I think. She either has to shift into being an interesting woman with something to offer or atrophy into a surreal parody of a kardashian.

Very early in her career, Get Into The Groove/Desperately Seeking Susan era, she was pretty cool. She was still quite rough around the edges and looked amazing.

Of course she'll go down in the history books but her days of being the big star are very much behind her and I seriously doubt she's able to accept that with just a shrug of her shoulders. She's famously competitive, spent decades re-inventing herself in order to remain at the vanguard of pop culture. All the achievements in the world doesn't make people immune to feelings of jealousy when they see people half their age enjoying the stardom that used to be theirs.

She already is an interesting women with plenty to offer.

But Madonna always seems to be fair game with the horrible comments.

Madonna has always been interesting, not to mention highly intelligent and articulate (as demonstrated by those interviews shared above). She wouldn’t have achieved anywhere near such longevity if she wasn’t.

She had a video where people asked her 50 questions and she looks good in it.

Its a shame she’s stuck trying to impress the youth and the men. In the real world a lot of women get to about 40 and can see through it all.

But in that video she’s also using a filter. So that’s not evidence of anything different.

Yes this is the era and she ruled it. I grew up with Maddie. Went to see her at Wembley (she was a match-stick in the distance and there were no big screens). I loved Desperately Seeking Susan..watched it recently and the music made me cry. Remember dancing at discos to Get Into the Groove. Dancing by myself to You can Dance while baby-sitting. Pretending to be on the vid for Borderline. That song will make me cry every time. I remember her religious phase with Like a Prayer which I never really got. But she's a legend and I'm really sad she's seen by so many as a tragic has-been. To me she will always be cool.

Oh my gosh, she looks lovely in that first photo and exactly as I would expect a naturally aging Madonna to look. I didn't receive filters could be THAT deceiving.

We all remember her, of course. But my teen daughters barely know who she is. It’s the nature of fame, isn’t it? I think her simulating sex with 20 somethings IS her way of trying to keep that age group engaged with her.
