That this looks like a stunt to undermine trans issues

Article in the Daily Mail, not sure if I should link to it…

A Canadian teacher in transition to female is pictured with enormous prosthetic breasts which they wear as part of their gender identity. When I saw the article I thought it must be a stunt against transgender people and trying to ridicule men transitioning to female. If they actually want to dress that way then to me, it looks like they are fetishising rather than genuinely transgender.

I am usually all for dressing how ever you want but it just looks so inappropriate, AIBU?

It doesn't really matter if he's a guy with a fetish, a raging narcissistic a-hole, or a pissed off employee pulling a stunt to make a point.

Self ID can/will be taken advantage of by any of those groups and the ultimate result here is a failure of child safe guarding.

The Canadian law on this is a total disaster. They need to wake the fuck up. And everyone else needs to not repeat their dumbass mistakes.

Rainbowshit · 07/10/2022 09:25

Well this ie exactly what feminists and the more switched on trans people have been warning about for years. Once self id is law then you let in the fetishists and the bad actors as well as the "true" trans people.

If he's able to use the law to exhibit his fetish in front of children in this way then maybe, just maybe the law is bad and some gatekeeping is necessary?

I’m the Op, no I haven’t disappeared! My first thoughts on seeing the pictures was this must be some kind of stunt, I have seen no evidence that it is or know anything about his motivations, it is purely speculation! I’m finding the discussion really interesting.

But we must have acceptance without exception, anyone who says that they are trans is trans, according to Stonewall. Why are you gatekeeping? Who gives you the right to deny her lady feels?

Don't forget anyone is who they say they are, therefore we must accept that @robin5810 is non binary because they say so - acceptance without exception - yet robin will not do the same for this person? Hypocritical much? Why would that be? Couldn't possibly be that this person is showing the world exactly what those mantras mean could it?

IncompleteSenten · 07/10/2022 12:43

Well quite.
Once a person who appears male says they are female, that is the end of the discussion. They are female, no exceptions and to deny that is literal violence because no man would ever claim to be a woman if they weren't.
No platform
No hate
Terfy terf terf and so on

nauticant · 07/10/2022 14:02

It's demanding something ("transwomen are women!", "acceptance without exception!"), and when this case comes along saying "here it is, this is what you demanded", there are trantrums about having not wanted that but actually wanted something different.

It's all rather cutted-up pear.

It's EXACTLY cutted-up pear!!!

Why do you keep misgendering her? Are you a transphobe?

What are you on about? It is a consequence of self ID! The whole point of the story is a person can be allowed to dress in this way because they identify as a woman. We can still question the motivations behind it and not take everything at face value, what’s wrong with discussing different aspects and angles to things?

That’s the point. Its claimed that it’s transphobic to question the motivation behind it.

He says he is a woman so he is and you can not question what motive is behind it.

I understand that, it’s that particular quote I have issue with, it seems contradictory.

See the reference to cutted up pear. The activists got what they wanted in Canada and are now pissed off that self ID is being exploited by people with motives they don't approve of which exactly what anyone with half a brain cell could have predicted.

This is self ID in action they need to own it but they have a habit of denouncing anyone who take it to the extreme as "not really trans". The whole point of self ID was to remove any gatekeeping so everyone who says they are trans is. Self ID means there is no such thing as "true trans".

I'm sure the tiny number of people with gender dysphoria are delighted about the chancers who are now directing trans rights campaigns.

TempName01 · 07/10/2022 18:48

Yeah I get that in terms of the activist, the quote just doesn’t make sense as directed at me

This is my opinion!

"I saw a story that was so ridiculous and disgusting that I decided it could be an elaborate stunt which is legal as a consequence of self ID."

What does "cutted up pear" mean? I googled it but found no meaning, this youtubes and articles about how to cut pears and make fruit salad.

CatsandFish · 07/10/2022 18:53

*this should be 'just'

Snoozer11 · 07/10/2022 18:56

I agree that it's a stunt.

I welcome anything that exposes the insanity of the gender movement.

Softplayhooray · 07/10/2022 19:05

Blocked · 06/10/2022 16:34

I don't think anyone would dress like this for a stunt. It's totally inappropriate. I know it's not cool to give a shit about children and their well-being but at some point safeguarding has to kick in.

This is either a serious mental health problem, or a sexual kink, or both. Clearly it is ridiculous and totally inexcusable to allow anyone to look like that in a classroom, FGS. Bloody ridiculous.

IncompleteSenten · 07/10/2022 19:09

Cutted up pear is an old thread on here.
A toddler asked for "cutted up pear" then had a massive tantrum when they got a pear that was cut up.

I think that was it.

Softplayhooray · 07/10/2022 19:09

If it's a stunt, bravo, because whatever loopholes in the law that allow this ridiculous display in a çlassroom needs squashing pronto.

TempName01 · 07/10/2022 19:17

Putting aside any issues regarding sex and gender. Is it appropriate for any person to dress like that in school or other professional settings? Who can determine what size breasts (real or fake) are allowed?

OP posts:
VestofAbsurdity · 07/10/2022 23:40

@FOJN it's quite the volte face from No gatekeeping, anyone is trans who says they are trans, they are living their truth, no tests, no criteria to meet, acceptance without exception to now suddenly gatekeeping and by dint of this gatekeeping declare that this person is not trans.

I note our you are all mean, nasty transphobes posters have not returned to justify their hypocrisy.

Well I don’t believe so. But the translobby does. That to stop this teacher expressing their femininity in the way they want to would be literal violence.

So again, it doesn’t matter if it’s a stunt or not.

@VestofAbsurdity i was just coming to ask where have the ‘you are all so mean’ gone.

Well with real breasts any size is acceptable because the alternative is what? Have surgery or lose your job?
