Who is going out tomorrow?

I have no interest in watching the funeral. Going to cook breakfast for DS and ho over to my mum's (2 buses). I will enjoy the empty buses and quiet streets with a walk through the city centre on the way there. Just trying to find out if anywhere will be open for a takeaway coffee.
Anyone else ?

We’ve booked in at a local restaurant for lunch. Delighted that they are open.

marcopront · 18/09/2022 20:55

I'm not in the UK so going to work
Will probably try and watch it, if it is on YouTube.

tuesdayblues1 · 18/09/2022 20:56

we’re isolating ahead of my DD surgery next week so I’m sure it will be on. No plans to go anywhere atm

Ginger1982 · 18/09/2022 20:56

Going to softplay 👍🏻

I am nearly 70 and this is only the second monarch's funeral on my lifetime, and there is a good chance there will not be another. I was working when they held Richard III's funeral so couldn't go to that. I have other responsibilites that prevent me going down to London, so will be watching in front of the box tomorrow. It is a major event in the history of the UK, the first to be televised since most people could afford a tv, and I think it is the right thing to do. I haven't watched much of the coverage up to now, but will make the time tomorrow.

Richard III?? He died in 1485 - confused... 🤔

Daisychainsandglitter · 18/09/2022 21:01

I'm taking the kids to soft play in the afternoon. I'll watch a bit of it but I won't be staying in with my kids all day watching it. They'll be bored to tears.

And was interred in Leicester Cathedral in 2015. Not quite a funeral but not far off.

comingintomyown · 18/09/2022 21:04

I’ll be watching with my DS and we will have a nice lunch after, it’s a historically significant event and I can go for a walk/coffee/ etc etc at any other time

j712adrian · 18/09/2022 21:09

I'm doing WTF I like tomorrow. It's not East Germany.

Smileyoriley · 18/09/2022 21:11

We are driving back from hols. Will stop at services to get bread, milk etc, and take the dogs for a nice long walk before returning home. I have no idea what time the funeral is as not interested in the least. Hopefully some sort of normality will have returned by the time Tuesday comes. The upside is DH will get a day off in lieu of bank holiday.

Wineaddict · 18/09/2022 21:38

Going to our local pub with the dog for lunch.
Would usually go for a coffee in the morning, but looks like most coffee shops will be closed.

JaceLancs · 18/09/2022 21:42

My local Costa is open for breakfast and again in the afternoon
Pub near me is showing funeral live on tv with special lunch offering
I will potter about and maybe go for a walk depending on weather

45mumof6 · 18/09/2022 21:42

Watching the funeral then spending the day cleaning as much as I can(I'm disabled and can't really move) back to work Tuesday have been off since the 8th on AL. I work nights from home.

TenoringBehind · 18/09/2022 21:44

Mostly watching the funeral but popping out twice to ring bells, before and after the funeral.

PooWoo · 18/09/2022 21:47

I would have liked to go to the gp because my DC is ill but obviously I can't. Maybe watching the funeral will cheer him up a bit unless we have to make a trip to a n e if he gets worse.

FayeGovan · 18/09/2022 22:07

I wouldn't watch the funeral if you paid me. Im not a royalist and am utterly sick of the ridiculous long period of mourning for an elderly extremely privileged person I'd never met. The cramming of it down our throats has made me even more of a republican than ever.

We'll go out, anywhere.

Totally agree with you.
Fed up with this pish in an understatement.

Or north korea

Although im beginning to wonder..

Echobelly · 18/09/2022 22:10

We're planning on going for a walk near where a group of friends live, a little way from us, and hopefully drop in on sone after, as we haven't seen most of them since pre-COVID.

Might watch some 'highlights' after (as a choral singer I'm interested in what the choice of music will be), but can't be bothered with watching live. DH and DS are fervent republicans so definitely not watching!

FayeGovan · 18/09/2022 22:11

Dh played the sex pistols god save the queen during the 2 minute silence tonight

Loads of bloody bollocks the lot of it
