I have no interest in watching the funeral. Going to cook breakfast for DS and ho over to my mum's (2 buses). I will enjoy the empty buses and quiet streets with a walk through the city centre on the way there. Just trying to find out if anywhere will be open for a takeaway coffee.
Anyone else ?

I'm going for a hike up a mountain in the morning.
Then on Tues we're getting all 4 of our bedrooms carpeted in one go. So I'm going to spend the rest of the day emptying rooms and stashing furniture in the bathrooms/living room/kitchen, ready for the carpet guys arriving!
I will catch some of the funeral as I'm interested to see it. And by pure chance we're eating Coronation chicken sandwiches for lunch, which I think is pretty fitting.

The cost taken from public funds, coupled with Charles not paying inheritance tax on the queens vast fortune, has put me right off the royals. I’ll take the family to the beach, have an icecream and write a letter to my mp about child food poverty and nhs waiting times.

I believe Caffe Nero are open until around 10:45am, are closing for the funeral and then re-open later in the afternoon. If you have a Coffee #1 I think they are doing similar. Costa seems to be closing for the whole day, although there may well be convenience stores open some of the day which have Costa machines.

I'm planning on doing some gardening.

Why wouldnt you go out....if you were a catholic like me living in belfast in the early 70s then this pile of shit would mean nothing....and if you never lived in belfast then dont dare comnent without proper knowledge

Not every Catholic from Northern Ireland thinks or feels as you do - my family are Catholics, but we definitely don't feel the same as you. You seem bitter there which isn't healthy.

But you do you. 🤷‍♂️

@juanmariaramierz

Comment on what? No one cares what you are doing personally. (I have lived in Belfast, for what it’s worth.)

The OP is just asking for ideas as a lot of places will be shut.

Who made you the thread police? Anyway as someone who had people killed by your side in the 80s in Belfast, I still wouldn’t come on and make comments like that when/if the Pope died. Obviously unlike you I respect people with a different life experience to me

We’re intending on watching the funeral, baking and then we’ll go out for a leisurely walk whilst the food cooks in the slow cooker.

If I am well enough I want to go for a run. Otherwise it will be a day at home, I have some studying to do for my martial arts grading.

DH will have come off night shift so will sleep till midday anyway.

I would like to watch the funeral.

Certainly won’t be watching the tv coverage. Going to enjoy a bank holiday day off walking the dog, and just generally pottering. I doubt there’s anything open here so not going to go far.

Walking two dogs then settling down to watch the funeral. DH might go to the local garage for his paper or he might go into a decline.

I'll just be at home. You don't have to watch it just because your home.

I'm quite heavily pregnant so can't manage a walk without guarantee that loos are definitely open 😀 Instead will potter at home and do some nesting. Fancy making some flapjacks and possibly a lemon drizzle loaf. The village pub is open in the afternoon if we need a change of scenery.

I've got a dentist appointment at 9.30. I was really surprised they didn't rearrange. Hoping to be back home to watch it though.
