Who is going out tomorrow?

I have no interest in watching the funeral. Going to cook breakfast for DS and ho over to my mum's (2 buses). I will enjoy the empty buses and quiet streets with a walk through the city centre on the way there. Just trying to find out if anywhere will be open for a takeaway coffee.
Anyone else ?

Won't be watching the funeral (will be glad when sanity returns to the UK), if it's sunny I'll be in the garden reading, if not a nice day I'll be inside doing some housework as I've neglected it.

Itawapuddytat · 18/09/2022 18:49

I am going to work (NHS). Sunday schedule for the buses and trains, so I should be fine.

StoneofDestiny · 18/09/2022 18:55

Why wouldnt you go out....if you were a catholic like me living in belfast in the early 70s then this pile of shit would mean nothing....and if you never lived in belfast then dont dare comnent without proper knowledge

Totally get that! The royal nonsense and Union Joke are not symbols of 'unity' and 'joy' to many people, and with good reason.

Actually, few even realise that a Catholic cannot become the King or Queen, and it was only in 2015 a person in the line of succession was allowed to marry a Catholic! And no, it's nothing to do with the monarch 'being head of the C of E.

Our buses are a Sunday service 👍

It’s my lovely grandad’s funeral tomorrow so I will be going there :(

DappledThings · 18/09/2022 19:10

Walk in the woods with PIL then back to theirs for late afternoon roast.

I'll probably watch the highlights later as well. I'm interested in what music they play, not much else.

Walk in the woods might be really quiet, might be crazy busy. Could go either way I reckon

Abraxan · 18/09/2022 19:11

Our buses are running a Sunday service tomorrow.
The UK rail is running a normal timetable but with off peak pricing.

Dh and I will be staying in tomorrow, nothing else planned bar catching up with some work at home.

Dd is back at university and has club tickets for the evening, so she is going out then.

Yorkshireswithallroasts · 18/09/2022 19:13

Taking my son out to the park in his scooter. The park has a really nice little coffee shop too so will probably have coffee/ice cream. Then the carpet fitter is coming in the afternoon to start work on one of our bedrooms!

SelfMadeWoman · 18/09/2022 19:14

Going over ro daughter's house to cook brunch. Then nothing . Bliss!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 18/09/2022 19:14

Not me! The roads will be empty I think.

Whendovescry03 · 18/09/2022 19:18

We're off out for the day for a nice big walk and a picnic with friends and all our kids. The weather forecast looks good thankfully, otherwise I'm not sure what we'd be doing. It's like a really boring Christmas Day.

JlL2013 · 18/09/2022 19:21

Chemo followed by Radiotherapy, DS is at a friends and DP will sort the garden.

maddiemookins16mum · 18/09/2022 19:21

We’re going to our Church for an afternoon Tea (I’ve made 24 sultana scones today as my contribution). A lot of our more mature members have been quite affected by the Queen dying and we’re opening one of the larger gathering rooms at Church from 10am so they can watch it together. They are bringing their own lunch but we’re doing an Afternoon Tea at 3pm for everyone. We’ve now got some families coming too so we’re including them and opening the Creche room. Expecting about 50 people altogether.

curlymom · 18/09/2022 19:23

We will walk dogs and stay in. I will watch and feel sad about the queen.
back to normal next day

My friend is coming over with her dd and myself and dd are going to have a duvet day with Netflix and nice food. Quite looking forward to it.

MinnieMountain · 18/09/2022 19:26

DS wants to watch the funeral. I’m taking him for a bike ride afterwards. Have managed to find a pub on our route that’s open.
DH has chosen to work.

Snozzlemaid · 18/09/2022 19:26

We're driving dd back to uni.
Hoping the roads will be quiet.

Chakraleaf · 18/09/2022 19:28

Going for sunrise swim
Going to work 😑

washingbasketqueen · 18/09/2022 19:29

Prob head for a walk with the dog then to the pub for a few. Won't be watching the funeral.

No knowledge but commenting because the absolute child in me says you can't tell me what I can and can't do on an anonymous internet forum. FWIW I will be going to the beach with the dogs and everyone should do exactly what?they want to do, none of my business.

EfficientDynamics · 18/09/2022 19:31

Yes. I'll be doing my hobby for 2-3 hours

Coffeaddict · 18/09/2022 19:32

We took the long weekend with no plans as a good opportunity to potty train DS🤣

We're very exciting people. No interest into the funeral

Lincslady53 · 18/09/2022 19:34

I am nearly 70 and this is only the second monarch's funeral on my lifetime, and there is a good chance there will not be another. I was working when they held Richard III's funeral so couldn't go to that. I have other responsibilites that prevent me going down to London, so will be watching in front of the box tomorrow. It is a major event in the history of the UK, the first to be televised since most people could afford a tv, and I think it is the right thing to do. I haven't watched much of the coverage up to now, but will make the time tomorrow.

Joystir59 · 18/09/2022 19:34

Walking the dog a good long walk and then watching the funeral.

Luredbyapomegranate · 18/09/2022 19:36

I am going to the office if that counts?!

I am sure restaurants and pubs will be open.. a roaring trade.
