Absolute backlash on Twitter as it emerges that Holly & Phill queue jumped to see the queen at her lying in state. Lots of comparisons to Beckham and memes about we skip any queues.

The This Morning office has put out a statement saying they are attending in their capacity as broadcasters.AIBU to hope that this is the end of shrieky Holly and slimey twat Phil?

International press were also given the opportunity to jump the queue- our breakfast show hosts in Australia did this too and acknowledged it on the show. They said it was offered to them as part of their reporting and was offered to all world media.

So why would Holly and Phil be treated any differently??

Beckham probably realised the fuss that would be made if he 'queue jumped' so didn't accept.

But I bet there is very few people that would choose to queue for 12+ hours instead of taking the VIP access or whatever it's called.

It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. I can’t stand them. Holly just comes across as totally fake and Phil just patronising and entitled. I don’t watch This Morning very often but only watch when there’s other presenters on. I bet they are both horrible people off camera, at least that’s the vibe I get from them. I have no idea why they got to be so popular in the first place to tbh 🤔

Lots of press have done it - there was a ballot for press to go in, witness the occasion so they could report on it (I think someone said for 30 minutes) and then file past the coffin. As a previous poster said, there are a few Australian presenters that have done this. I’m not sure why there has been such a backlash against Holly and Phil and not others. Susanna Reid queued because she was with her mum wasn’t she?

Not from UK, but did that man literally have to make an announcement on his show that he was gay? He couldn't have been more obviously gay if he wrote it on his shirt.

I think the backlash is because people understand why journalists may be allowed in to report on it, but Holly and Phil are not journalists.

I live close to Allison and bumped into her a few times. She is lovely. Always chats to everybody. I’ve never heard a bad word said about her.

God I hope so I cannot stand them. They've had it good for too long I sincerely hope the bubble bursts for them. She is unbelievably smug and only got where she is due to her producer husband who gets her every tv job going, Phil's coming out live on this morning was toe curling. Ruth and rylan were superb in the summer, professional when needed but hilarious too. Time the this morning producers removed their heads from p and h backsides.

Alison and Rylan would be fabulous.

The amount of attention Beckham has brought to himself is really unnecessary! The press and people have made a big deal of this - peasants queuing up to see royalty, oh the irony. People are arguing about class and fairness.
