Absolute backlash on Twitter as it emerges that Holly & Phill queue jumped to see the queen at her lying in state. Lots of comparisons to Beckham and memes about we skip any queues.

The This Morning office has put out a statement saying they are attending in their capacity as broadcasters.AIBU to hope that this is the end of shrieky Holly and slimey twat Phil?

That's the point though isn't it. I don't think they created passes for journalists just for them so logically other journalists have done the same with no comment but because people on here seem to hate them they are singled out and people start blaming them for things like the competition on the programme which obviously isn't their decision.

People like David Beckham and Susanna Reid get praised for queuing but they weren't there in a work capacity so it isn't comparable.

Some people must like them or they wouldn't be doing the programme, clearly some people hate them and some like me don't have an opinion. Although I do have an opinion on people who wish harm on others.

I think anyone with common sense would question a spinning wheel competition where one of the options was winning payment of your energy bills. I don't care whether they're celebrities or not, I would question anyone.

Wow, that "thank you for all your coverage guys" from Clodagh was very much scripted and expected by P&H. You could see there was this awkward silence when Clodagh had clearly temporarily forgotten to say anything and Phil just looked at her waiting.

Didn't think any filming by TV crews (except the official broadcast) was allowed. So what were they doing inside? Obviously abused their press passes to get in there and have a look.

I don’t get the outrage TBH.

The Queen lying in state is a huge piece of must-see news for the UK & countries of the Commonwealth, and the world’s press were given a relatively short window of time to report on it. It’s not Phil & Holly’s fault that the UK lost the run of themselves and lunacy meant the queues were almost 24 hours long. They report on news as part of their jobs, they clearly had press passes, so either we accept the press get special access in order to report on the event, or we don’t. But specific ire being targeted at these 2 is baffling to me.

They present news stories don't they, might be more like a magazine than a highbrow newspaper but so what. From what I've read the passes were for journalists and media people. I haven't watched the programme in years, I think it's the one Richard and Judy used to do, it is a mixture of things and to be honest you might think they don't qualify but whoever was running it thought they did.

Have you investigated who else got passes, do they all qualify in your opinion?

For someone who has never watched their programme you really seem to like them.

Do you know if they questioned it? You probably don't do you.

At the end of the day it won't be their decision so they either do what they are paid for or make a stand which will probably result in them losing their jobs. Their decision if it is worth that.

There are people I don't like on TV, what I do is watch something else. I can't stand Stephen Fry but he seems to be held up as something wonderful, he's a convicted criminal who has done time, have PS or HW been to prison? Although I don't like SF I'd never join a mob trying to get him sacked from a job.

What a silly observation. I don't like them, I don't know them, don't watch them. What I really dislike is sanctimonious people who just don't like them coming on and trying to make a big deal out of something that just isn't. There were passes for journalists and media people and they qualified. Sorry if that doesn't suit you but it isn't all about you is it.

Have some guts if you don't like them just be open about it and don't go looking for some poor excuse to have a go at them.

If you mean presenters and news people, I like Emily Maittlis, Ros Akins, Huw Edwards, Martin Lewis when he's on GMB and Susanna Reid is OK. I always found Anne Diamond a bit irritating and I find Naga Munchetty a bit too sarky to her co-presenter. No one I want to get sacked, just watch something else if they are on.
