To think Prince Harry should now do whatever it takes to cancel his book contract?

And withdraw his book?

A rapprochement looks possible if he meets the RF halfway.

@Watapalava You don’t have to look very far to find evidence. The last few days alone.

agree spirit that contract will be iron clad and the publishers will want to capture max exposure and what better time than in the next few months and also Christmas

i think it will be published and make them lots of money but in his heart will always regret it
what a greedy pair i hope they live in misery with all their money

I highly doubt he'll regret it. Quite the opposite. It's his chance to be true to himself and stand up for what he believes in.

Being "greedy" (ie wanting payment for something) doesn't mean what you're being paid for isn't sincere. He can tell the truth, stand up for morality, and still make money.

You do know the rest of the royal family make shit tonnes of money from 'doing their job', don't you? Is Charles not greedy? Of course he is. He's also a spineless, angry man.

The way Meghan has been portrayed in the media is disgusting. Harry should carry on as he planned and continue to prioritise his life with Meghan and the children.

Well I would applaud this 100%, as long as they don't also want the privilege that comes WITH the duty. They want a foot in each camp - that is simply not tenable. They are not trusted not to blab to the press. They are after £££££££.

Livelovebehappy · 16/09/2022 23:04

Grandeur · 16/09/2022 22:16

YABU. I doubt a rapprochement is possible because I don't think Meghan will ever be accepted into that family, and that's what the problem has always been.

I think it’s the other way round. Meghan never accepted the Royal Family into her life. She wanted Harry, but minus the trappings of what being part of his family would mean for her,

ReneBumsWombats · 16/09/2022 23:04

Not a chance. But I think it would behoove them to delay publication a bit. They could go for next year's Christmas market instead.

Are you denying she's black?

And are you saying you know everything that goes on behind palace doors?

Your post is so ignorant. And a good reason why the book needs to be published.

The Daily Mail was pretty bad. Apparently some corners of social media were worst. A couple of racist butters even got mocked up for white power type threats. That’s really unpleasant to experience, even if it is a minority.

The irony of your post saying "where's the racism!?" at the same time as containing s blinding bit of casual racism.

Well played, you satirical genius.

I'm presuming it was an intentional bit of sarcasm and not you exposing yourself as a bit of a racist?

This social media corner being one of them…

I genuinely think with some it is jealousy too. Very pretty and married to a Prince, how dare she?!

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 16/09/2022 23:11

He ought to, but he may not be able to. Depending on contracts etc. In a way though, I think he's written and if its really awful and possibly vindictive, then that is a choice he made as an adult and he and the rest of the family need to live with his choice. Personally, I don't think there is anything they would not do for profile, attention and money. They are both 'damaged' and bring out the worst in each other. They are not capable of backing down, because they don't seem to have the emotional intelligence or insight.

mumboss1984 · 16/09/2022 23:12

@Watapalava I am also white and olive skinned, it isn’t bullshit at all.

Yep. People like to think they support strong women. That it's a good thing to want a successful career, to back yourself.

But when someone does it, they must be a conniving bitch. They must be manipulating their husband. Must be after the fame.

Double standards. It's a mix of ignorance and stupidity. Standing up for the royal institution as though they need protecting.

Doubling down on your racist microaggression does not absolve you of your racist microaggression.

LondonWolf · 16/09/2022 23:14

He should but I don't think he will. I'd love to be wrong though.

Watapalava · 16/09/2022 23:16

Pp

im not saying she hasn’t experienced anything with regards rf

the truth is the uk people and press turned against her had nothing to do with race

it’s because she threw us under a bus and called us all racist

I liked Meghan

she’s beautiful no denying

seeing Charles walk her down the isle was lovely

im not saying she never experienced racism from certain people

but to me she doesn’t look black so it’s not something I even considered in order to judge. I don’t think I’m alone in that

shes not exactly someone who stands out in the rf to be an issue . She really doesn’t

most judged her on behaviour

LondonWolf · 16/09/2022 23:16

Best to ignore the accusations of racism. You know yourselves. Why even bother to respond to bad faith accusations from randoms on MN who know nothing about you and the person you are?

BMW6 · 16/09/2022 23:16

Christ Almighty no - one is denying she's Black! But really, so bloody what! Big deal!

Are you suggesting any black person is not to be critiqued because they are black?

If I say l find MM to be a lying self indulgent narcissistic piece of work married to an immature narcissistic self indulgent twat - am I then a racist?

Fuck that. Nelson Mandela was a great man. Robert Mugabe was an utter cunt. They had nothing in common apart from the colour of their skin
So nothing worth noting.

Divebar2021 · 16/09/2022 23:17

I think it should be published - let’s hear what he has to say. It will probably make him lots of money in the short-term but could well be biting the hand that feeds him. If it’s an attack on the Royal Family it may well seal his fate with the members of his family and a good section of the British Public. What’s he going to complain about then? How long can he monetise the same events?

Exactly this.

And when Catherine is praised in the press and written about positively for the very same actions and behaviours that Meghan is criticised for, you have to wonder what the defining difference is between them.

Examples here,:

Andouillette · 16/09/2022 23:18

Well said. I have a mixed race daughter and grandchildren and I know very well that this does not mean that I cannot be racist. I hope I am not and strive not to be.
