To think Prince Harry should now do whatever it takes to cancel his book contract?

And withdraw his book?

A rapprochement looks possible if he meets the RF halfway.

I think he should but doubt he will. I think he and Meghan are a difficult combination as she seems to encourage his victim mentality

The Californian sensibility doesn’t seem to mix well with “The Windsor Way”, but maybe there is a compromise possible.

Why? Not being goady but unless your his editor we don't know what he has to say yet.

Msgrieves · 16/09/2022 22:47

I have no idea how anyone could possibly give a fuck.

I agree.

spirit20 · 16/09/2022 22:49

Even if he doesn't, I doubt any publishing company with any grain of sense will publish it anytime soon. The backlash would be too much.

Luredbyapomegranate · 16/09/2022 22:49

He can’t, because it’s… a contract. And the manuscript has been delivered.

Not that he’d want to.

They’re both a disgrace

I never want to hear their names, I’m so angry at they lack of respect

he has let his mother down big time

I think we can make some shrewd guesses based on previous programmes and interviews.

@SeasonFinale true, no one really knows his side of the story yet, he may well be a victim. His mother certainly felt she was a victim of the royal family, and the tabloids were utterly horrible to her before she died as well.

Was just thinking the same! I have no idea why you’d go to the bother of sharing that 😂🤦‍♀️

mumboss1984 · 16/09/2022 22:53

The way Meghan has been portrayed in the media is disgusting. Harry should carry on as he planned and continue to prioritise his life with Meghan and the children.

DysonSphere · 16/09/2022 22:53

I abhor the behaviour of H&M. M behaviour in particular I find (if even half true) lacking in all conscientious and sincerity and frankly think she may really have a personality disorder

That said:

I do think the RF have to be pragmatic and meet H&M halfway at least.

What meg wants and expects is completely transparent. She wants A lister American fame. She doesn't want the arguably greater and more refined fame of simply being a British Royal.

She wants to trade on their royal status. And build an empire on it. If not her then through her children's royal titles and standing.

They both want to live in the manner they've became accustomed to.

In order to take the heat out of the fire and kill the book which is a revenue spinner, and shut down further embarrassing revelations, the Royal family should give them a large chunk of what they want.

Make Archie and Lilli HRH at least.

Loosen up restrictions on merching their status. Give them roles to play

Give them some armed security when they come to the UK. Stop quibbling on small stuff. Tell the media to back off them a bit. Be a dysfunctional family that works because it has to, like other unfortunate people up and down the country.

Otherwise I really fear that they will undermine the RF to a huge degree.

LadyHarmby · 16/09/2022 22:32

No publisher will go ahead with publication if he doesn’t want to. They’ll probably expect him to pay his advance back but otherwise they’ll let him out of the contract.

@LadyHarmby Yes they will, and they are absolutely entitled to. They’ll make a lot of money out of it.

YABU. I doubt a rapprochement is possible because I don't think Meghan will ever be accepted into that family, and that's what the problem has always been.

So let her be No.1.....abroad

LastWordsOfALiar · 16/09/2022 22:56

Everyone has a right to speak the truth and to object against harmful institutions.

I don't think there's a valid place for the royal family anymore. There are more cons than pros and his honesty lets us see some of the realities, not just for him and Meghan, but in general.

It's a toxic and unnecessary institution, we don't need the monarchy. We shouldn't accept it. And I for one am proud of Harry for fighting a huge battle to get his voice heard. He's brave with integrity. We should all WANT to know what's going on behind the scenes in the palaces. It's entirely our business and I suspect there's a LOT that needs to change.

Good on Harry, publish the book I say.

mumboss1984 · 16/09/2022 22:57

I am so angry at the sheer amount of mindless racism concerning Meghan (not accusing you personally just a general overview)

mumboss1984 · 16/09/2022 22:58

@LastWordsOfALiar Completely agree

Assuming his dad hasn’t been racist, that’s not a reason to be estranged from his dad. There are different strands to this. Media, and family, then substrands.

agree spirit that contract will be iron clad and the publishers will want to capture max exposure and what better time than in the next few months and also Christmas

i think it will be published and make them lots of money but in his heart will always regret it
what a greedy pair i hope they live in misery with all their money

Fullupdowntown1a1 · 16/09/2022 23:01

@LastWordsOfALiar yes I think the impulse to protect institutions over people is concerning, it should be a good thing if he tells his side of the story. Sunlight is the best disinfectant. It will only undermine the institution if it’s bad, and if it’s credible. People/institutions who don’t want bad things said about them probably need to not do bad things to people, or let bad things happen. The RC church learned that the hard way
