I'd really like some ideas for something new to read or watch with some element of romance.

Have previously loved:
Elizabeth and Darcy
Jane and Rochester
Harriet Vane and Peter Wimsey
Robin and Strike
Linden and Holder
Mulder and Scully
Margaret Hale and Mr Thornton
Brienne of Tarth and Jaime Lannister

Please give me your favourites.

Westley and Buttercup

How did that take 6 pages!?

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 13/09/2022 21:11

@lugeforlife thats right! Michael/ Pup (wanted to be called Puck 😂) was the name I wanted to remember. I think the other guy might be called Steve/ Stephen.

Yes! I really should catch up on this actually, I haven't read any of her books in a few years.

Kate Burkholder & John Tomasetti - Linda Castillo's Amish crime series
Ian & Mickey - Shameless
Michael & Sara - Prison Break
Michael & Nikita (both versions - La Femme Nikita, and the remake Nikita)
TK & Carlos - 911 Lone Star
Pacey & Andie - Dawson's Creek (good god Joey was annoying!)
Michael & Maria - Roswell
Michael & Alex - Roswell New Mexico
Casey & Sara - Sunset Beach (man I miss that crazy mess of a tv show lol)
Tris & Four (Divergent)

Plus loads that have already been mentioned (Mulder & Scully, Mark & Lexie, Josh & Donna), and so many more I cannot think of straight off the bat.

Jake and Amy from Brooklyn Nine Nine

absolutely loved their relationship and how they helped each other grow. Also accepting one another for who they were.

@MarieIVanArkleStinks I read that the producer and director of Hannibal firmly believed that an American audience would be outraged by a detective FBI cop lady falling for a homicidal maniac and that's why they changed it but either way I agree with you, the build up in the book made it entirely plausible.

DONTMESSWITHMEDARNA · 16/09/2022 00:19

I've always said bugger all the romantic crap from films and books or Romeo and Juliet (i wont watch stuff like that i like "bloke" films/shows or horror) find someone who loves you as much as Gomez Addams loves Morticia (Addams family if people don't know who i mean)

or if you've seen the crow, get someone who will avenge you as much as eric Draven does and loves shelly

even though im 41 i only read young adult supernatural mainly vampire, witches Faires, demons etc

shepherdlincoln · 16/09/2022 00:35
