car farts

The seasonal fight between DP and I has started again this morning. The rage from last years memories has riled me up.

Here is the situation... No matter the weather, if it is freezing cold, snowing, hail, or storm, if DP hears or gets a slight whiff of a fart he will turn the window down in the car the whole way for 30 seconds.

In that 30 seconds I will be on the verge of contracting hyperthermia while I screech at DP to put the bloody window up. DP insists that he would rather be cold than smell fart. I insist that the window stays up the whole of winter.

Here's where I may be unreasonable. I am responsible for 50% of the farts but I want the window up the whole time, no matter who created the fart. My partner is the driver and it's his car.

You’ve clearly never been in a car with my DP. If it’s the day after a few Guinness and a pork roast you’re taking your life in your own hands if you want the window shut.

let the farts be free, all the way out of the window.

WifeMotherWorker · 12/09/2022 15:17

Eewwwwwwww stop farting in the car, both of you!!

Chikapu · 12/09/2022 15:20

Why are you so farty that this is even an issue? Surely you can do a car journey without letting rip.

Pixiedust1234 · 12/09/2022 15:21

If you are going to fart in his car in winter then wear thermals. Farts stink of shit, which it literally is. Shit and gas. You don't walk down the road farting with every step, so no need to fart in the car 🙄

KiraKiraHikaru · 12/09/2022 15:25

Well, I’ve just farted in my car and there’s no way I would have survived it if I wasn’t able to open the window so Yabu.

I am very surprised that there are people who genuinely can't hold in farts! Do you just walk about farting whenever you get the urge? Are there people all over the place doing this all the time?

Have you never been able to hold them in, or is it something that starts to get harder as you get older?

Also, is it can't or won't? Because that is different.

I have IBS. Very hard to hold farts and in when it flares.

Sometimes it is just wind and nothing else. On those occasions then yes, I do walk about farting. I've farted from one end of a Tesco aisle to the other before, although I do check there is nobody directly behind me. Can't stop it for long though. When it will out then it will out.

I rarely fart in my car though. No idea why, it just hardly ever seems to happen until I get out, and then all wind breaks loose. 🤣

He is clearly a fartophobic.
I can only suggest learning to drive, getting you own car then you get the windows controls!
Or increase your amount of farting in day to day situations to reduce his sensitivity to them

I cannot believe the majority of people would rather freeze than smell a fart. 30 seconds is long enough to shiver the remainder of the journey.

😂

Is this serious

aiming for classics yeh? this isn’t as funny as you think it is. don’t be disgusting

It's definitely written with a view to getting into classics.

But cutted up pear it is not.

Carrotzen · 12/09/2022 17:00

If its a post kebab/curry and beers fart for Dp then I would genuinely rather freeze to death than have to smell it. If its just an average day to day fart then Id probably cope but would rather not

On a serious note you wont get hypothermia from 30 seconds of windows down. Cars have heating, wear a jumper or keep a blanket in the car if you get that cold. I don't think its fair to insist everyone smells your fart for the entire journey

Helpel · 12/09/2022 17:00

Poo vapours. I heard that as a term for farts once. Now I can't unhear it. As a result, I vote open the windows immediately.

Carrotzen · 12/09/2022 17:02

On a positive note the cars heating comes from the engine so you can have it as high as you like! Might as well enjoy some warmth this winter
