car farts

The seasonal fight between DP and I has started again this morning. The rage from last years memories has riled me up.

Here is the situation... No matter the weather, if it is freezing cold, snowing, hail, or storm, if DP hears or gets a slight whiff of a fart he will turn the window down in the car the whole way for 30 seconds.

In that 30 seconds I will be on the verge of contracting hyperthermia while I screech at DP to put the bloody window up. DP insists that he would rather be cold than smell fart. I insist that the window stays up the whole of winter.

Here's where I may be unreasonable. I am responsible for 50% of the farts but I want the window up the whole time, no matter who created the fart. My partner is the driver and it's his car.

I also live in a very cold place. It is cold already and the car creates a heat bubble which is burst every time the window is open.

DP opens the window for his too even though I have no control over that.

My car ( a pukka Land Rover ) smells vaguely of horse shit most of the time ( I have two horses ) so it wouldn't make much difference but whoever is driving has the final say in our house.

How often does this happen that it became such an issue? My DH has not once farted in the car with me in it, my DC have very occasionally but usually on the way home from school when they need to get to the bathroom. And the window always goes down.

What the. Well I would wind the window down… also, you can definitely hold it in, I hate it when people fart while someone’s eating. No need. So it’s cold… just have the window down for 30 secs… then back up, heating on, you won’t freeze im sure.

Sorry but this is ridiculous. Modern cars have this incredible thing called HEATING. Unless your partner drives an ancient car then the car will re-heat. There is no way that having a window open for 30 seconds will make the car freezing cold for the rest of the journey

I can hold in a fart or poo for a short time only, enough to excuse myself from the situation. Any longer I start to have hot flushes and feel sick.
