Boris Johnson's tribute was good

I liked it. I was prepared to hate it, and to wish he'd shut up, but it was good.

mynameischloe · 08/09/2022 19:33

She didn't. She said King Charles the third.

Those that are saying she did, at what moment?

Really? That’s your level of pedantry right now?

That says far more about you than anyone else

I wonder if George, Charlotte and Louis will be at school tomorrow

I hope that if they (or any of the queens great grandchildren) are that the schools handle the situation very sensitively for them. It is a huge deal for the country and the school have to acknowledge it but equally the children were all close to Her Majesty and will be grieving.

Most children in their situation in terms of loosing someone can at least have some space from it at school. But for them everyone will know

I'll miss the Queen. I admired her and pitied her at times. The world feels different knowing she is gone. May she rest in peace 💐

ODFOD Boris. Nobody wants to hear from you.

I thought the same - what a gosh*te!

I said to DH he will b spitting tacks he didn't get the chance to be the one in charge when she died.

He speaks so very respectfully, but he lied to her face - he's so hypocritical.

mynameischloe · 08/09/2022 19:40

@JustLyra

Why are you picking on me? Lots of other PP have queried it as well. I was meaning if others thought she made a mistake, when? Because it's not true.

Snowiscold · 08/09/2022 19:41

the children were all close to Her Majesty

How do you know? Most young children aren’t very close to their very elderly great-grandparents.

Waynettaaa · 08/09/2022 19:45

Beautiful rainbow for our Queen 💞 My friend has gone to Windsor, I'd have gone but have my grandsons for the night.

Re Boris' piece- generally good but I didn't like the bit 'you don't know what you've got till it's gone'. We all knew how wonderful the Queen was. Was he perhaps talking about how he feels about his position (wouldn't surprise me)?

diddl · 08/09/2022 19:56

Where has Harry travelled from if he has only just arrived?

CoconutSky · 08/09/2022 19:57

so glad to read that Charles had been visiting daily.

No most children don't have great grandparents!
Why would you think they were not close? It has been widely reported over the years that the queen really enjoyed their company. They have spent holidays at Balmoral and Sandringham with her.
And even if they are only moderately close they will still be upset and grieving.

They are all usually at Balmoral around this time aren't they?

I suppose Sophie, Edward & the Cambridges had children to get back to school so no longer there?

YoniWheretheSunDontShine · 08/09/2022 20:01

Or his own mother?.he.lost her very recently

Causes an accident? How?

I was thinking someone driving, and being distracted. Not that it matters now. I needed to nip out for a bit.

I can’t work out precisely what pedantic thing the pps are arguing about.

Is it whether or not Truss used the definite article in front of the word “third” ? Or . . . is someone pulling someone else up for typing 111 instead of III?

Or something else?

I thought the same. Like nobody's claiming we're calling him King Charles one hundred and eleven
