The Queen is under 'medical supervision'

Festoonlights · 08/09/2022 12:44

The Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors became concerned for her health, Buckingham Palace says.

"Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision," they said in a statement.

"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."

Her immediate family has been informed.

The announcement comes after the Queen, 96, pulled out of a virtual Privy Council on Wednesday, with doctors advising her to rest.

Breaking news BBC

We very much hope she is okay, it made me feel sad to read this. I think the line her immediate family have been informed was a worrying line.

Well it won't be a shock, unlike the King's death, when the BBC played solemn music for days and days and days.

I expect her to remain at Frogmore Cottage in London - away from the family she has done nothing but criticise and complain about for the last 20 months, no longer wishes to be part of and could not wait to get away from. The last thing they need is her there with them at this very worrying time for them, having to watch everything they say incase it ends up in a podcast or interview or her journals.

No one cares about what you expect, least of all the Royal Family, no doubt.

lasvegasherewe · 08/09/2022 14:41

@CaptainBarbosa but Diana died on Saturday so why would you be in a classroom when the news broke?

Getagrip123 · 08/09/2022 14:42

It's a shame that other important news doesn't get the same coverage or apparent strength of feeling, news that DOES actually affect people in real life.

A 96 year old woman who had enjoyed a massively privileged long life, dying in her own castle surrounded by her family and the best healthcare imaginable, is not a tragedy.

The level of faux performative hysteria about this is going to be unimaginable.

RobertaFirmino · 08/09/2022 14:42

Why is it inappropriate for a woman to be present for her husband as his mother dies?

Bit odd you were at school when Princess Diana died on a Sunday....?

I was just about to say that... I was 16 and lazing in bed because it was a Sunday morning.

If the Queen would like her to be there, that's entirely her right.

none of us know what has really occurred. They might be very fond of each other.

I agree there was something odd when Diana died but now, looking at what might happen,
i get it a bit more. Surprised anyone heard it from a class teacher as it was a Sunday.

Tierne · 08/09/2022 14:43

@LadyKenya
And nobody cares what you think either 🤗

mothertrucking · 08/09/2022 14:43

The speculation is the worst because they don't give full details out. Anything could have happened. She could have had a stroke or heart attack anything. Just because she looked well the other day.

Only time will tell now and it's pretty apparent the news is imminent with all of the family heading up there.

Crikey, some of the posters on here remind me of childhood bullies. They can't wait to belittle others and proudly announce that they feel nothing and that a nation in mourning is just performative.

Perhaps if you can't say anything nice ...
(Oh but it's a public forum so I can spew my bile too you know.) Yes you can, but it's not big and it's not clever either.

Why does relating how we feel have to be big or clever? It's no different to 'the nation's granny' types saying how they feel. It's just that one side seems personally offended by the other 🤷🏻‍♀️

Trust me when I say that that what I've posted is absolutely nothing compared to what I really think.

the80sweregreat · 08/09/2022 14:43

It was the six weeks holiday in the uk when she died on a Saturday night In Paris
My son went back to primary school on the Monday after this

It doesn't sound good does it

Yes, sounds much better.

PoshHorseyBird · 08/09/2022 14:43

Watching the news on BBC 1 now, they say William and Harry have travelled to Balmoral along with the rest of her family. So that's not looking good 😥

Dahlietta · 08/09/2022 14:43

Diana died in the middle of the night too, didn't she?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 08/09/2022 14:43

If she will lie in state in Holyrood then I'm glad the festival and the bin strikes are over.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/09/2022 14:43

We’re going to get all the performitive grief nonsense very soon ... it’ll be a million times worse than Diana

I agree about the performative grief, but surely not on a Diana scale?
After all there's a bit of difference between the tragic death of a 36 year old and the more expected one of someone of 96

Apparently it'll be the swans this time for 24 hours at least

lasvegasherewe · 08/09/2022 14:44

@CaptainBarbosa Sunday I mean, overnight Saturday into Sunday

Emilyjayne9421 · 08/09/2022 14:44

Sadly I have a feeling that she has already gone. I think they are letting the family gather before announcing. I hope I’m wrong.

HotHeatDays · 08/09/2022 14:44

hopeishere · 08/09/2022 14:37

There will be tonnes of info coming in and he's looking to see what is next. I'd not tad too much into it. But the presenter at balmoral is in a black coat so it's obviously imminent.

All guests and reporters seem to be in black.
