  1. Ex colleague making a video of herself recounting an episode that she had in the shower after seeing a spider in there. Still wrapped up in towels she was and clearly just wanted lots of attention, likes and laughs.
  2. One of my colleagues is with a guy who she thinks craps rainbows even though many of us find him arrogant and rude. She posts photos of herself looking up at him in a simpering and submissive way and it's truly cringeworthy.
  3. Mll lady who says she can now retire her husband, how she is the luckiest girl in the world and posts everyday about how blessed she is and how everyone else can be just like her if they say 'yes' to the opportunity of selling her products.

Jack Monroe, just generally every Tweet.

SylviasMotherSaid · 28/08/2022 22:01

All this ‘my team ‘ and ‘like the queen I am ‘ which seem to be the two new hip expressions from 30 somethings . Also those photos taken from behind of a family walk .

ohffsomg · 28/08/2022 22:03

Southend dog training. Don't know why I keep seeing their posts but more people seem to be referring to them.

Find the videos cringe.

People posting about their children and what a hard time they are having with school/bullying/autism/trans/friendships....sometimes with an actual picture of them crying. A massive invasion of your own kid's privacy, just for sympathy and likes. Often accompanied by villifying and threatening other people's kids and trying to start up little witch-hunts against them, which of course is apparently a brave, and wonderful thing to do.

This is my absolute pet hate, the pictures of kids crying thing!! I've just been ranting to my partner how much it bugs me. Or them checking in to A&E and putting "just here with our insert child's name" and then being really elusive when people ask if they're okay 🤦‍♀️

Miacarla · 28/08/2022 22:13

Most of it to be honest, but you sound a bit of a boot.

EllieRosesMammy · 28/08/2022 22:16

On my Facebook our local police force put up a post about how they'd arrested a heroin dealer and a guy on my friends list shared the post and put "Hahaha go on lad!!! (tags dealer in post)" 🤦‍♀️

Just about to say the same.

  1. Stay away from social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc).

One could argue that posting on here counts as posting on social media, but this is a forum and forums pre-date social media. Also, Mumsnet goes back to the early 2000s which in itself pre-dates social media.

MN is social media
But lol at desperate attempts to pretend it isn't...

Randomword6 · 29/08/2022 00:19

A man holding his baby and looking at his phone while he wore a mask on the side of his head of a woman's face supposedly to keep the baby happy. Bastard. Look at your baby not your phone.

Gagaandgag · 29/08/2022 01:08

Families doing tiktok routines together, then falling about laughing and hugging 😬

Annieisalright · 28/08/2022 18:48

Next door neighbor posting a gushing tribute to her husband on his 35th birthday

'So lucky to be with the most handsome man who treats me like a queen and is always there for our girlies'

When in fact just the other day he was screaming at her calling her a shit mother, disgusting pig, she was calling him a drunk wanker, and the kids were crying all the way through

I've always wanted to comment with the recordings I have of said arguments (which there are a few times every week) but my balls aren't big enough Grin

Thank you at @Annieisalright - I always suspected this was happening behind the scenes with the gushing tributes brigade, and you've now confirmed it 🤣

mjf981 · 29/08/2022 06:30

Those bunny ears / sparkly filters etc etc, especially when used by adults. My friends Gran often adds a filter. Just grow up. You're not 12 y/o Margaret.

mjf981 · 29/08/2022 06:34

And pics of the family dressed in matching pajamas at on xmas eve with about 27 'feel good' hashtags. One of my friends does this every year - their family of 4, her sisters family of 5, plus her parents. All in a different/new set of pjs for the whole family every year.
It all ends up in the bin come NY. She told me. Fuck the environment. It gives me the rage.

DoubleGauze · 29/08/2022 06:39

Britney Spears.

Simonjt · 29/08/2022 06:43

A very close friend has fairly recently started dating someone who is a vlogger, said friend now sometimes appears in the vlogs. Now I find vlogs cringey anyway unless they’re actually about something out of the ordinary etc. So vlogs are cringe anyway, but you can see by my friends body language that he is embarrassed in them, so it ups the level of cringe.

FriendOfDorothyGale · 28/08/2022 14:49

Fella on tiktok called snapshot eye.

He does dances and you can pay for a cameo off him.

He's 42 and so fucking cringey

Is he the one that does the weird clothing grabs and is virtually always in his dads bathroom? If so it seems he has been grooming younger followers.

crispsandnuts · 29/08/2022 06:48

I dumped an ex because of his excessive and cringey Facebook posts, dealbreaker. He couldn't understand that as a bloke of 50 looked a bit of a tit posting utter crap, especially when he attempted to update his status with 'in a relationship with crispsandnuts', until I sabotaged it....and the relationship.
Thankfully my DP has no interest of social media, I made it a key requirement when trawling the dating sites.

Britney Spears.

Is she back now then I thought she had left social media.

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 29/08/2022 06:54

I like watching ‘reels’ on Facebook and Instagram - short videos that are supposed to be funny/poignant/interesting. And I enjoy most but so many of them follow the same trend and the one trend I HATE HATE HATE is the one where they have some sort of disco light filter, dance and play Alexis Jordan’s ‘Happiness’ whilst whingeing about something. So fro example: The title will be ‘Things people say to me as a blonde’ and the woman will be dancing and will start pointing to sentences that appear, with a cross look on their face. Sentences are what people say to them and it will be things like ‘I bet blondes have more fun’ ‘Are you a natural blonde’ etc. other titles are things like ‘Things that people say to me as a new mum’ and ‘Things people ask me as a dental nurse’.

Such a weird way to have a moan and also it’s always non-issues they moan about . I feel like commenting ‘So what, so people aren’t always psychic and say the exact words you want them to say at any given time, that’s life, get a fucking grip and by the way no one really gives a shit that you’ve made this innocuous decision you self-involved narcissist’

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 29/08/2022 06:55

DoubleGauze · 29/08/2022 06:39

Britney Spears.

I agree, I mean I’m pleased she ain’t in that barbaric conservatorship anymore but JFC woman put some clothes on and wipe the mascara from under your eyes.

torquewench · 29/08/2022 06:55

I'm in a van life group on FB. Its an endless source of cringe.

Lots of non-vanlife related cleavage/short shorts selfies of ladies "just chilling all on my lonesome on this secluded beach/hill (in full makeup with immaculately styled hair) looking at the beautiful (out of shot) sunrise/sunset" with every one of comments being men slavering over the photo volunteering to keep her company. FTFO and find a more appropriate group for your attention seeking.

Lots of people moaning that they arent allowed to just park up and set up home for weeks on end wherever they want, which is usually on a seafront in a popular seaside resort with pay and display parking but absolutely no facilities.

This weekend someone posted a video of himself (in his "big 4x4, not his day van") pulling someone else's van out of a ditch, then a huge paragraph about how the van was this bloke's home and he'd nearly lost everything he owned and what a shame the police had then turned up breathalysed and arrested the van driver/crasher and asking how could he contact the guy via the police and turn this event "into a positive" for the van owner. Van owner's reg in plain sight on the vid, as was the owner (who didn't look remotely bothered/upset about what was going on). Urgh. 🤮

I want to leave this group but its compulsive reading 😅

Penguinsaregreat · 29/08/2022 06:57

The ones where a cheated on wife gushes about how fantastic her adulterous husband is. Thanking him for doing something ordinary such as breathing.
"Oh huge thanks to my darling husband Ben for taking HIS dog for a 10 minute walk today whilst I looked after our 4 children. You are so fantastic and gorgeous, I am soooooo lucky. You are the best husband and daddy ever."
Meanwhile Ben is working out how he can fuck Melissa from sales on the next works do.
