  1. Ex colleague making a video of herself recounting an episode that she had in the shower after seeing a spider in there. Still wrapped up in towels she was and clearly just wanted lots of attention, likes and laughs.
  2. One of my colleagues is with a guy who she thinks craps rainbows even though many of us find him arrogant and rude. She posts photos of herself looking up at him in a simpering and submissive way and it's truly cringeworthy.
  3. Mll lady who says she can now retire her husband, how she is the luckiest girl in the world and posts everyday about how blessed she is and how everyone else can be just like her if they say 'yes' to the opportunity of selling her products.

The posts about people going up to random strangers and doing them a good deed

Racheltension1 · 28/08/2022 18:11

Oh yes, virtue signalling. Especially at Xmas. 'I'm happy to make a load of extra dinners for the 'homeless'. And everyone piles on to say how wonderful they are. Really? How many plates have you got then? And where is it you live, cos you haven't actually said your address, have you?

Mymugisblue · 28/08/2022 18:15

Selfies in your house for no particular reason, I mean just why

I can not stand people wishing dead people a happy birthday/anniversary/Christmas/ ect ect

Or people saying "ect" for "etc (etcetera)"...

AuntMasha · 28/08/2022 18:22

I don’t think anything beats that version of ‘Imagine’ during the early weeks of lockdown. Saccharine on steroids. Literally made me want to poke my eyes out with a rusty screwdriver.

HesterShaw1 · 28/08/2022 18:26

Lots of things

But mainly the daily holiday updates which started as they arrived with "Aaand....relax!" featuring legs by a pool. And then continued for 10 days, as though everyone at home was waiting in breathless anticipation.

I'm not sorry that I have hidden several friends. It's just so egocentric!

Adults doing dance routines on Tik Tok. Fucking embarrassments.

Yep.

HesterShaw1 · 28/08/2022 18:28

And calling their husband/partner "this one" as they post about a minibreak/meal/afternoon in the garden they are so blessed to share with them.

Also 'local' groups, about the town you live in. Obsessions with the ownership and future of the same little patches of land, people who think they run the town when they are talking in no official capacity whatsoever, photos of every tiny little transgression, just madness!

Yep, those who profess to be the sole voice representing the views of the community when it’s plain to see they are representing loudly their own personal views.

Womblealongwithme · 28/08/2022 18:30

My friend's husband posting of photograph of his legs and feet on a sun lounger when they went on holiday. He's 58 FFS. Mortifying.

Revolvingwhore · 28/08/2022 18:32

A former colleague now at a different school waxing lyrical about her GCSE cohort's results. Nobody cares! Also - it's a fee paying school so you damn well be getting good results.

leccybill · 28/08/2022 18:35

"Had worse Mondays" with picture of a pint of 1% all inclusive lager.

On Instagram "I thought I'd just pop on to say..."

Basically everything on Tiktok, apart from the parodies and comedy which I actually love.

illbeinthegarden · 28/08/2022 18:45

People posting as if they are influencers and have 5 million posters.. but I guess everyone starts somewhere 🤷‍♀️

Annieisalright · 28/08/2022 18:48

Next door neighbor posting a gushing tribute to her husband on his 35th birthday

'So lucky to be with the most handsome man who treats me like a queen and is always there for our girlies'

When in fact just the other day he was screaming at her calling her a shit mother, disgusting pig, she was calling him a drunk wanker, and the kids were crying all the way through

I've always wanted to comment with the recordings I have of said arguments (which there are a few times every week) but my balls aren't big enough Grin

Greyingmumto3 · 28/08/2022 18:51

People taking selfies in hot tubs , if I want a picture of you and your other half in the bath I’ll ask !

mnahmnah · 28/08/2022 18:52

It’s always the over-sharing for me, airing of dirty laundry and things that are too personal. Social media should be light and positive, not where others should be uncomfortable

Emmelina · 28/08/2022 18:56

On a local group. Someone asking for puppy food because she’s run out and doesn’t get paid for another week. Puppy is only 10 weeks old please help!

why why WHY did you get a puppy if you can’t afford to even feed it? You must have had it like 2 weeks. Things don’t change that sharply that you suddenly can’t give it anything 😬

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/08/2022 19:06

The professional victims who have never ever been horrible to and about their families.

Cringe fest.

JimJamJollyWolly · 28/08/2022 19:06

What is this thread? I don't feel the need to cut people down for just living their lives. If you do maybe social media isn't for you in the first place?

tillytoodles1 · 28/08/2022 19:40

People posting pics of their legs on a sunlounger by a pool who quote" how's your Monday" . FFS, you're on a cheap AI in Benidorm for a week, not living the high life on your lottery win

These pointless things. Just so utterly inane.

Also the pointless riddles you see everywhere. It was strife during COVID.

Always ended with "I lost to (insert name here)"

Boring!

Most of LinkedIn

People who post about their "exciting" meetings and "exciting" work events.

Not fooling anyone. They are there for the money. Pure and simple.

Article in the paper about coat of electricity impacting EV owners and posters gloating about it. Why wish fuel poverty on someone else? To be fair majority of EV owners posting saying they are on fixed low overnight tariffs so would not be impacted was irrelevant to them.

What's EV?
