  1. Ex colleague making a video of herself recounting an episode that she had in the shower after seeing a spider in there. Still wrapped up in towels she was and clearly just wanted lots of attention, likes and laughs.
  2. One of my colleagues is with a guy who she thinks craps rainbows even though many of us find him arrogant and rude. She posts photos of herself looking up at him in a simpering and submissive way and it's truly cringeworthy.
  3. Mll lady who says she can now retire her husband, how she is the luckiest girl in the world and posts everyday about how blessed she is and how everyone else can be just like her if they say 'yes' to the opportunity of selling her products.

I've just thought of two more 🙈

Joint Facebook pages.

Hashtags. When someone (who isn't an influencer) uses multiple hashtags to drive traffic to their personal social media page it seriously makes me cringe. Screams neediness.

Fella on tiktok called snapshot eye.

He does dances and you can pay for a cameo off him.

He's 42 and so fucking cringey

This guy is the worst. Thinks he is so cool and has an arrogance about him. I'm pretty sure we will see him on the news at some point and it won't be for anything good.

LesOliviers · 29/08/2022 09:32

Someone I know from years ago who detailed the breakdown of her marriage over the course of a few months, including her husband's mental health issues. This culminated in her sharing a go fund me page asking for people to pay for her divorce! A few weeks ago she shared a photo of the decree absolut. I've since unfollowed her. I don't understand how anyone can think it's appropriate to share such personal stuff on sm.

Southend dog training. Don't know why I keep seeing their posts but more people seem to be referring to them.

Find the videos cringe.

They are the worst

Oh yes, virtue signalling. Especially at Xmas. 'I'm happy to make a load of extra dinners for the 'homeless'. And everyone piles on to say how wonderful they are. Really? How many plates have you got then? And where is it you live, cos you haven't actually said your address, have you?

What also annoys me is these people are happy to do ONE DAY of volunteering for the social media likes but is nowhere to be seen when there are requests for organised volunteers who just do it for the good of others.

MyLordWizardKing · 29/08/2022 09:58

I recently saw someone post a long rant something, accompanied by three selfies of her crying about it.

I just find this behaviour baffling. Never in my life have I been tempted to take a selfie while crying, let alone upload it to SM. What is the rationale behind it? Do people think others won't believe they're upset without providing physical evidence?

Randomword6 · 29/08/2022 10:05

People posting images of their babies doing cute things when you know they are more engrossed in their phones after they post. IRL I've seen babies who perform for the camera and are then ignored.

Cam22 · 29/08/2022 10:05

No idea.

But having read a few posts, I realise people do not use the proper term: “cringeworthy”.
It’s cringeworthy not “…so cringe” or “cringiest”.

Mangogogogo · 29/08/2022 10:24

‘Tell me you have a child with autism without telling me you have a child with autism…’

stop exploiting your child 🤮

Diva66 · 29/08/2022 10:26

The nasty thread on Mumsnet talking about users on Gransnet.

Ziggyisthebestdogintheworld · 29/08/2022 10:28

People who air every single stain on their dirty washing
i have one who’s just broken up with her fella-he took the kids one contact, and refused to return them
she got them back, and he tried to snatch them again-rinse and repeat
they are both paranoid that the flying monkeys are stirring the pot by passing on gossip to the other
its turned really toxic, those kids are stuck in the middle and the whole lot is posted on fb for all to not only see,but to pick over and stir the pot so it gets more toxic and more gets put on fb
the kids have no privacy, they are made to choose the favourite parent and any tears are posted to get one up on the other

just go to mediation, bang your heads together and work out what’s best for them away from the rest of the world, who don’t want to see it

CoffeeLover90 · 29/08/2022 10:30

Oh-
Having the occupation as full time mummy. This implies that while I'm at work missing my child, checking how he's doing, only being there to provide for him and set a good example I'm not actually a mother while I'm working. Stay at home parent is the term that should be used.
Me and my kids, onwards and upwards, chin up, chest out etc. To announce they've broken up, only to be back together a couple of days later.
My soul mate, love of my life, gushing love. Either they've known them a week or we all know IRL the soul mate is actually a twat.
Asking questions such as what time does asda shut? Google it.
Where can I buy insert name of expensive item If you'd googled you'd get your answer but would miss the opportunity to brag.
There'll be more, that's just top of me head.

I like watching ‘reels’ on Facebook and Instagram - short videos that are supposed to be funny/poignant/interesting. And I enjoy most but so many of them follow the same trend and the one trend I HATE HATE HATE is the one where they have some sort of disco light filter, dance and play Alexis Jordan’s ‘Happiness’ whilst whingeing about something. So fro example: The title will be ‘Things people say to me as a blonde’ and the woman will be dancing and will start pointing to sentences that appear, with a cross look on their face. Sentences are what people say to them and it will be things like ‘I bet blondes have more fun’ ‘Are you a natural blonde’ etc. other titles are things like ‘Things that people say to me as a new mum’ and ‘Things people ask me as a dental nurse’.

Such a weird way to have a moan and also it’s always non-issues they moan about . I feel like commenting ‘So what, so people aren’t always psychic and say the exact words you want them to say at any given time, that’s life, get a fucking grip and by the way no one really gives a shit that you’ve made this innocuous decision you self-involved narcissist’

I REALLY hate that trend. I see it a lot on youtube shorts as well and I always swipe past them. Anything where people are pointing at sentences.

There's a similar one with a gospel choir song.

CandidaAlbicans2 · 29/08/2022 10:53

One of my friends posted a bondage photo on FB of her boyfriend trussed up (thankfully not full body, just close up of arms) and I was embarrassed for her. That's a bit too intimate and I really didn't want that insight into their sex life/kink.

Another cringeworthy thing I've seen is when amateur SM "celebs" post bloopers videos, where they're giggling because they forgot their lines. It can be funny when it's famous people, seeing that they aren't perfect, but random unknowns with a handful of followers? Nope.

hotdiggetydog · 29/08/2022 11:04

"the Famileigh"

Racheltension1 · 29/08/2022 11:43

CoffeeLover90 Yeah, 'full time mummy'.....translation, 'my husband earns ok so why fucking bother'. You won't be all shocked when you see your own pension forecast in the not too distant future now, will you love?

sammylady37 · 29/08/2022 11:49

FlibbertyGibbitt · 29/08/2022 08:25

Oh and adults who feel the need to stick their tongues out in a photo 🙄

I hate this. They look ridiculous

Strugglingtodomybest · 29/08/2022 12:17

I cringe at, whilst at the same time being fascinated by, posts where people moan about the noise/smells/balls coming from the skate park/farm/cricket pitch etc etc that were already there when they bought the house.

Do they not realise/care that everyone reading it thinks they're stupid?

lollipoprainbow · 29/08/2022 12:27

I've posted many times about an annoying person on Instagram who homeschools her son. From what I can gather they are mostly out at cafes having breakfast/lunch and always with the hashtag. Toocoolforschool.

PinkRiceKrispies · 29/08/2022 12:28

Some more...

The saying 'Famalam'
People saying 'Having a clear out on FB. If you want to stay on my friends list, message here now.'
Adult women doing full body photo shoots.
Weird videos where a woman is sitting down and flicking her hair with 'Feeling beaut' as a caption

rainbowmilk · 29/08/2022 12:33

School acquaintance who I meant to unfriend a while back has just had her 7th child by her 7th partner, who she’s calling her “forever man”. Kids have had surnames changed each time a new baby has come along. 3 of the kids have significant additional needs but she just can’t stop having kids. Comments full of “eeee well done mama love ur large family enjoy the snuggles”. Absolutely grim as fuck.

TheLostNights · 29/08/2022 12:36

This...

'And just like that, Bubs has turned 2!'

Also

'Can't wait for hubby to get home so he can spoil me' followed by another poster saying ' Can't wait to go to bed and hold my husband in my arms tonight.'

Wouldloveanother · 29/08/2022 12:43

When it’s just really clear how they ‘want’ you to see them vs how you actually see them.

loads of these have made me laugh and cheered me up during a debilitating episode of morning sickness so thank you!

It’s almost as bad when they’re bragging about their kid doing it. ‘My sweet boy, look at him packing shoeboxes for the needy, his heart is so pure and his soul is so fierce’ blah blah
