CF Have come to stay - The morning after

The first thread is full so I'll start a new one, in case there is a dramatic update in the morning.

I actually feel emotionally drained right now. I keep almost crying. Pathetic. Probably the wine thats doing that.

I'll be going to bed shortly and i'll update tomorrow if theres anything to add. I reckon they will be up early and go quietly though.

They don't drive a ford ranger (I remember that thread! haven't looked at a ford ranger driver the same since!) Its a bmw something or other.

Dp cleared up the kitchen and 1 dc (dd19) came down and helped, so thats all good. She then came out, gave me a little hug and said DP had explained about the food. She then lit up and offered me a cigarette (WTF! I don't smoke and although had an inkling wasn't sure she did) and said no ones perfect, everyone has failings. Honestly i'm in a parallel universe tonight.

Dp has put most of the beers away in the garage, just left in the fridge what was there. I do wonder if they will take them home.

I went to bed but can't sleep.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who commented and everyone who said some really lovely things about me. You have no idea how much this means to me right now.

I doubt myself so much and over so many things, and I have other things going on in life at the moment like we all do, and this was just a small few days of my life, but having this anonymous band of amazing people having my back is just something that I really really needed right now and is something I can never forget. You helped me shape what I needed and wanted to do. It was the kick up the backside we probably all need from time to time. At least I know I do.

I do feel a little bit like a hero inside. It might be fleeting, and it might be insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but thank you so so much for that lift I obviously so badly needed.

Its boosted me in more ways than you can imagine. Even if its just for a little while, I have that now. I can do this life stuff. I've got it. No more silly doubts and thats going to spill over into other stuff I have to deal with. I honestly feel so thankful to everyone of you.

So just thank you.

Given that CFW surpassed all MN expectations this evening this is not beyond the realms of the possible. OP you may wish to think ahead about how you will respond if they decide not to leave tomorrow but to stay for longer in order to amortise today's outlay, in case they decide they wish to discuss further about you reimbursing them or their idea that you should ask for help if you want it.

I get it OP, I really do.

Handling / confronting a difficult situation and standing your ground, particularly when it's something you'd usually avoid, is empowering. You feel drained and upset tonight but I think this might be something you can look back on later with a sense that something shifted for you.

Don't underestimate what you achieved tonight.

Well done! Standing up for yourself is hard if you’ve been brought up to ‘be polite’. Who makes tea and doesn’t offer it around?!! It’s so rude! And what adult needs asking to help cook/clean up?
