To not really like it when men post on here?

Just that really. After reading not one but two bullshit threads started by men in the last few days I’m just a bit sick of them posting on here. I love mumsnet. I’ve read interesting threads, hilarious ones, heartbreaking and sometimes infuriating ones and I just feel like saying ‘oh piss off’ every time a bloke sticks their neb in. It’s MUMSnet ffs. I know I am being unreasonable really and am a massive hypocrite as I’m not (yet) a mum myself haha and don’t actually contribute anything of value to this site myself but still….they get on my tits.

He's probably gone back to the perv topic.

Cam22 · 23/08/2022 12:31

I hope so. He gave me the ick, as they say.

The more approaches he tried, the more pathetic he became. Did he really just decide to leave because another manly man who comes to the aid of poor helpless women had a word with him?? If so, the other interloper should have left too. If they really wanted to, they could skipped off holding hands.

Cam22 · 23/08/2022 12:43

…have skipped off…

I'm the Interloping Manly Man. Would you like me to make a comment on that, or just keep quiet? Very happy either way, and this thread has been a masterclass on digging deeper holes and misreading the room already.

waterlego · 23/08/2022 18:50

You seem quite sound to me @PhotoDad

Though expressing that view might get me labelled a handmaiden so maybe I should shut up too 😬

picklemewalnuts · 23/08/2022 19:16

To be fair, we can't complain when men stand by and watch misbehaviour, and complain when they intervene!

I think sometimes we hit peak frustration and become a little less reasonable than is ideal!

I think I also interloped but I’m clearly not as manly as you do in true beta male style, I defer 😀

I don’t think it’s interloping to post on a forum open to all though…

I was being sarcastic.

No comment required.

Cam22 · 23/08/2022 19:38

I’m really not interested in any of your contributions.

I think it's more frustration that, when a Man intervenes, another man finally listens.

Cam22 · 23/08/2022 21:50

They think they are going to be so popular. Haha

utterly wrong

I recognise your name from ages back, what's your general perspectives on this issue of mumsnet being all inclusive ?

jewishmum · 24/08/2022 20:36

Are there any major sites for just women to post?

Paul85 · 24/08/2022 22:01

How are the great people of Mumsnet tonight?

Rogue1001MNer · 25/08/2022 00:01

CBA to read the whole thread
But there seems to be a lot of hate towards men
Correct me if I'm wrong but it's a site for parents by parents well that's what the tag line says.

Yes it's called mumsnet but it's supposed to be a site for PARENTS not just mums

As mums take on the majority of parenting duties and generally seem more emotionally invested in their kids it isn’t surprising it’s mainly women though. Men are all on Reddit 😂

A lot of what is written about men is quite unfair, objectively - they’re expected to be fleshy robots, calm and reasonable in any situation, without any negative traits or human reactions. If they’re not then they’re ‘abusive’ or ‘misogynists’, whereas the exact same behaviour from a female would just be ‘shitty’ or ‘unreasonable’.

It does me me laugh though that the same standards never apply to a poster’s own ‘dear son’ who is always the victim. Almost like when you actually know and love the male involved they become fallible and human again…

Nottelling15 · 02/03/2023 13:39

Just smacks of double standards on here
Men are apparently vile horrible things according to a core of mums net users

@BEAM123

I've just tried it with 2 fairly typical lumps of Ernest Hemingway and got "weak male" and "weak female" so I'm not sure it's totally reliable. Fun though!

He must be revolving Grin

I used a Bible passage and got 'female'. Hah!
