To not really like it when men post on here?

Just that really. After reading not one but two bullshit threads started by men in the last few days I’m just a bit sick of them posting on here. I love mumsnet. I’ve read interesting threads, hilarious ones, heartbreaking and sometimes infuriating ones and I just feel like saying ‘oh piss off’ every time a bloke sticks their neb in. It’s MUMSnet ffs. I know I am being unreasonable really and am a massive hypocrite as I’m not (yet) a mum myself haha and don’t actually contribute anything of value to this site myself but still….they get on my tits.

It’s a bit like when a bunch of women meet in a pub. Men are there (it’s not a female only space) and this is fine.

What isn’t fine is when a random man comes and latches onto the group of women. They really want to catch up but he won’t leave them to it - it’s very important that the women pay lots of attention to him. They try being polite, they ignore him a bit but he still carries on. Then when one of them says that, actually, they’re trying to catch up and please could he leave them to it, he gets unpleasant.

Don’t be that dude.

That's a good comparison. There's always that one annoying man at the pub that isn't good at reading the signs.

Oh no it’s not trolling. It’s a certain type of man.

Precisely. Men on this forum are creepy. Can’t they get on with some sawing or joinery or something instead of lurking amongst women? I can actually visualise what this one might look like:

I havent seen men threaten women online but i dont doubt it happens.Being called a creep by a stranger is like water off a ducks back to.me as i know my character.I do not think you are crazy but its clear you dont want to sort this out even after i apologise.Sorry for any offence caused to anyone on this thread.

You do not even use the apostrophe properly. I can’t be bothered with badly expressed and poorly punctuated posts.

Cam22 · 22/08/2022 14:23

A university educated joiner? They’re the only sort I would employ. Somehow I doubt you are…

No worries Cam.Sorry for the bad punctuation.

I find men being on MUMSnet (clue is in the site name) creepy! The appeal of this forum is that this is a space for females to talk about inherently female (XX) lived experiences like TTC, periods, DV, menopause, childbirth, relationships, sex, careers etc and the target audience is female.
There was a post a while ago about IM’s being sent to OPs that had posted about sex and these messages were from men. I get the impression men have ulterior motives for being here.
Men should use DADSnet!!

Cam22 · 22/08/2022 14:25

Paul85 · 22/08/2022 12:28

You know absolutely nothing about me and clearly like stirring things.

Oh dear. Not that cliché. 😆

Well that wasnt predictable

Well like I said earlier, no "tactics" needed to show you up. You don't just get hoisted with your own petard, you strap the thing on willingly and light it with a blowtorch.

Why are you still here? Don't tell me it's because it entertains you, you have no sense of humour. You're determined not to do anything that could amount to self-improvement so if you're such a good guy, what's your motivation by this point?

I dont doubt what youre saying but fortunately not all men are the same.

Cam22 · 22/08/2022 14:31

No university degree? Not even one? Doesn’t sound terribly fascinating. What are you even doing here…

Literally nobody here cares about your life story.

You have derailed the thread, men tend to think they are saying the most important things, which is why lots of us don’t want men on here.

Cam mentioned Uni for some strange reason so i told her what i do.Hardly a life story.

”…this argument’s GONE too far.”?

It’s not an “argument”. Nobody is in the least bit interested in you or your ilk.

What about cats, dogs, diy, neighbours, education, music, books, films, even parenting?
None of those are inherently female.

If MN contained just what you listed, I'd agree with you (and also have no interest in being on the site) but it really does have a much wider scope.
