Anyone else sick to death of the heat?

sickofthisshite000 · 14/08/2022 15:09

I know there have been numerous threads on this already but OMG, I cannot taking this sodding heat any more. I actually feel sick today because it's so oppressive and I can't get anything done around the house, which is like a furnace. Normally it's like this for a few days in the summer before cooling again, but it's been about six weeks of intense heat now in the south-east.

It's looking like tomorrow is the last of it thankfully - I sodding well hope so.

Anyone else completely fed-up?

Just had a couple of hours of rain, thunder and lightning in South Cumbria

it was fantastic

SandieCollins · 14/08/2022 22:09

I’m enjoying it (obviously understand that the reason for it is terrible) it finally feels like I’m living in the climate I was made for.

If it weren’t for the environmental impact of this I’d love this for most of the year. I actually feel a bit disgruntled that it’s going to rain / get colder from tomorrow.

babynoname22 · 14/08/2022 22:13

Hell yes. 35 weeks pregnant and a 2.5 year old toddler. The heat can't do one now

BMW6 · 14/08/2022 22:19

Finally a cool breeze here in Hampshire, feels much more comfortable and I've actually stopped sweating!! Thank fuck!!

gnilliwdog · 14/08/2022 22:20

@AnyFucker Sounds amazing. If we get any here I'm going out to walk in it, even if it's the middle of the night! Has it cooled down after the rain?

knickersniff · 14/08/2022 22:22

So so hot here in Essex , I've got sweat dropping down my face typing this . Tomorrow is going to be humid then Tuesday it'll cool . I'm done in .

Tinks95 · 14/08/2022 22:23

I hate this heat! Much prefer a cold cosy day. Feeling sticky & uncomfortable. Can’t wait for the autumn fresh air to come in!

I bet it smells lovely 🌨⚡️I’m hoping hoping here !

sickofthisshite000 · 14/08/2022 22:25

Envious of anyone experiencing rain. It’s still disgustingly hot here in London.

Still bloody hot here in London, 24C. Another horrible nights sleep. Can't remember the last time I felt cool at night.
As another poster said I wouldn't be surprised if we were 'blessed' with weeks more of this due to an Indian summer although can only hope that sleeping will be more comfortable due to the nights drawing in

TheLostNights · 14/08/2022 22:26

Posted the same thoughts at the same time @sickofthisshite000 !

tobee · 14/08/2022 22:29

I can't remember the last time we had warm June, July, August and September.

Not meaning to picky, but I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that, technically, an Indian Summer can only be called if you get warm weather after you've had the first autumn frost. Not that it really matters as we know what posters mean.

RosaMoline · 14/08/2022 22:29

I’d love the summer if it was 21 - 25 every day.

Did it make a difference @AnyFucker ?

TokyoSushi · 14/08/2022 22:32

31 currently in my bedroom in Cheshire, I am so done.

VestaTilley · 14/08/2022 22:33

YANBU. It should be nowhere near this hot in Britain.

Climate change is happening now - and it’s terrifying.

We haven’t built a new reservoir since 1992. We are so screwed.

ClaudineClare · 14/08/2022 22:36

22 outside and pleasant here at the moment. Inside the house is about 27.

Try the wet sheet thing, it really does work!

We certainly need to pull our finger out and do something. Farmers are raising the alarm, a lot of crops will fail this year.

ozymandiusking · 14/08/2022 22:41

Up here in the Manchester area, I suspect as usual, once it starts raining it'll never f***g stop.
But despite saying that, as a lot of people who know me, know I say, " You can keep your oil, it will be water the wars will be about."

Kateandherbush · 14/08/2022 22:00

I’m absolutely fucking sick of it and wish it would fuck off! I’d honestly rather have a year of winter than this horrid relentless heat for another day🥵🥵🥵

Here hear (hedged my bets!)....plus, your user name is wonderful!

lollipoprainbow · 14/08/2022 22:47

Thought it might have started to get cooler tonight in south east but nope it's just as bad, have a thumping headache from the humidity. When will it ever end 🥵🥵
