Caused by diacetyl which was banned from e cigs in 2016. Cigarettes contain WAY more diacetyl so if you're worried about popcorn lung you are better to vape than smoke

Also tobacco companies see vaping as a new market to cover lost revenue from falling cigarette sales and are aggressively marketing it at young people. Far from being a less harmful alternative for smokers there are many, mainly younger, users who have never smoked cigarettes before but have taken up vaping. The flavours and ability to “accessorise” the device actually make it an easier sell than cigarettes to young people.

Are you the person who insisted on vaping almost constantly on a journey from Bristol to Manchester in a mini-bus, who then complained and got shouty when I and another person who'd asked you politely to stop it, threw up?

Every morning when taking my children to school I see lots of secondary school children vaping.
It does worry me as smoking seems uncool now (which obviously is a good thing).
But vaping is still not 100% safe and where are these children getting vapes from and of course are they legit.

When you smoke, you combust tobacco, when you vape, you heat liquid. Smoking contains hideous amounts of tar and carbon monoxide, vaping contains neither. Disposable vapes should be banned, they are an environmental disaster. Much better and far cheaper to use a pod system, AIO (all in one), where the pod/tank can be refilled, the coils replaced and the Mod (battery) recharged.

You're entitled to vape but I want to passively vape as much as I want to passively smoke.

What annoys me is when people vape freely around others without any consideration of how the vapour might be affecting them.

I would have been better to vape but they weren't about then. Of course I wasn't "allowed" but since when do children/teenagers tell their parents everything?

My issue with vaping is that people seem to do it inside - they wouldn't smoke inside!

I was coming down the escalator in Westgate in Oxford last week and the bloke in front of me started vaping. It was link being in a cloud of super sweet air freshener

If people vape as a means of stopping using nicotine altogether, great. (I did and not looked back for 10 years). But it’s very sad seeing kids taking it up, and I agree Vapers assume they can do it anywhere anytime. That’s not ok.

I'd rather get mud on my clothes than dog shit, I'd still rather not have either. Likewise I'd rather breathe in someone else's vaping than smoking, but I'd prefer neither.

Surely if you're use to smoking rules, then just apply the same rules to vaping? If you still don't like those rules, then give up both?

When I said my previous comment about people not understanding addiction I didn't explain what I meant. I smoke and I'm trying to quit and using a vape is helping me. I've smoked for 16 years and it's not easy. So my comment was to those saying "just don't smoke or vape it's unhealthy". Omg I didn't know it was bad for you??? Who knew?? 😏It's not that bloody easy to quit. It's an addiction. Would you tell an alcoholic to just not drink as it's not healthy? Or a drug addict? Get off your high horse ffs. But I agree with the comments about smoking/vaping in public when there are people around. I like to think I'm a considerate smoker/vaper. I walk away from everyone as I know it's unhealthy.

Actually that’s not the case - research has shown that a lot of people who vape never smoked to begin with.

Come on now banning a substance lessens the availability/amount it's taken significantly..sure look at Amsterdam, marijuana and prostitution everywhere you turn your head. It's promoted!

Yes I think there's now a whole new generation of vapers who have never and will never smoke. I find it really sad as for awhile it looked like smoking would die out and most 19 / twentsomethings I know have never smoked or vaped. But now the streets are full of 12/13/14/15y old vapers round here with those cheap disposable ones.
