Porn culture has led to women suffering injuries during sex

Doyoumind · 12/08/2022 10:01

Apart from all the violence etc porn portrays as normal, anal sex is definitely treated as an everyday thing that women enjoy. I don't personally. I know some women claim they do but I've certainly known men who pressure for it and I'm guessing it's only got worse in the years since I was dating.

This article suggests women are unknowingly entering into something that can cause serious injuries.

most porn shows all this prep work in detail does it?

PollyRockets · 13/08/2022 08:01

@TullyApplebottom

I'm starting to think you're just never going to understand a basic concept of relationships and sex tbh.

I'm going to say it one last time as I cba to play chess with a pigeon

Having anal sex with someone you trust and like = more likely to use adequate lubrication, go slowly and care about you during the process

Having anal sex with a random person = more likely to not use lube, not go slowly, not give a shit if you can sit for the next week

Having anal sex with lubrication and going slowly minimises risk

How is that a hard concept to grasp

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 13/08/2022 07:59

Nope

Hence why we need to educate people

The horse has already bolted

Pretending it's still in the stable helps no one

Fifife · 13/08/2022 08:04

There definitely needs to be education. Hook ups and ons should not be having anal sex or play because it needs a lot more preparation to be safer. There's misconception in porn that men can immediately insert with no lube which isn't true also I'd say having anal really regularly isn't good for your health. Occasionally well lubed won't cause any long term damage but porn stars are getting anal prolapses from having too much anal.

PollyRockets · 13/08/2022 08:04

TullyApplebottom · 13/08/2022 07:58

But you’re so clever, knowing how to do anal sex “safely”, aren’t you. What an achievement for you to look back on in old age.

Well yes

Knowing how to have sex safely is usually a good thing no?

Plus I hate anal, hurts like hell for me

I don't however pretend other women can't enjoy it or judge those who do

Maybe you can look back on this (as I'm thinking you're already in old age with so antiquated views) and evaluate how you behave

We have a full house here …. Women who are open to risky sexual acts are superior to women who aren’t. Women who aren’t must be that way because they are old, repressed, ignorant about sex or otherwise uncool. People who engage in risky sexual acts must never be made to feel bad about that in any way.
the Bullshit Bible has been swallowed whole by this one.

Fifife · 13/08/2022 08:09

If a woman actually wants to try anal of her own free will with a new partner she should take the lead , go on top so she can control it. Porn teaches women to be passive and it's men just doing stuff to them.

what’s the “safe” level below which you can be sure you don’t end up in nappies? Anyone know?
maybe better to explain it’s not a good idea full
stop.

PollyRockets · 13/08/2022 08:10

@TullyApplebottom

Projection now huh

Who said women who are open to anal sex are superior to those who don't?

Again, enjoy being on the out with your very strange and judgmental opinions on other peoples sex lives

LivesinLondon2000 · 13/08/2022 08:11

I do agree we need information available for teens starting to experiment with sex.
First up, the point that actually the great majority of heterosexual couples don’t do anal sex and most women actually don’t like it. That’s real life - pretty different to what you see in porn. And so if you don’t want to do it you are actually completely normal.

However, there are some women who do like it, and if you do want to try it, there should be information available on how to do it safely and what the potential risks are. That’s what I’ll be telling my kids anyway.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 13/08/2022 08:13

Lots of stuff in porn ….

should everyone be educated on everything in porn?

Oh watch out you'll be called a groomer soon

Can't be teaching children about safe sexual practice outside the missionary position didn't you know!

Do you ever have constipated large bowel movements? I have and I'm not incontinent I've also needed an enema in the past for constipation after an operation still not incontinent. I work in healthcare and the people who are doubly incontinent are usually 70+ caused by Dementia not because they had a cock up their backside too many times.

Again, idiotic. Of course there are other causes of anal incontinence which we may not be able to avoid. This one we can. So again, I ask, what’s the “safe” level?
there isn’t one. So the right advice is if you don’t want a leaky bum, steer clear.

Here we are again. “Missionary position”. If you’re not open to this you’re repressed with a boring sex life. Of course.

PollyRockets · 13/08/2022 08:24

@TullyApplebottom

You have issues

Maybe work on them in private instead of laying it out for all to see on here

No one is judging those who love the missionary

You just seem to intent on that being the case

😂You know we're in end times when mothers' feel sanctimonious about how open they - and by extension their children - are to shoving things up their rear. And even if they 'don't like it', that freedom must be preserved for the people at all cost. What a hill to die on.

With that level of evangelical zeal I am sure the only shame she is spreading is to her kids is if the poor things have any natural and valid revulsion to the things she seems to wish them to engage with.

Whitehorsegirl · 13/08/2022 08:28

I read this piece as well and thought it was about time that this was discussed.

Yet another result of porn being so readily available and too many men thinking that what they see in these videos is actually a realistic depiction of sex and should be copied.

I am so sick and tired of women being routinely harmed because someone fancies rough sex or can't grasp that women are not porn stars.

Yes, some women will enjoy anal sex but for most it is a grim experience and it would be silly to ignore the physical risks attached to it. Let's just say it like it is.

We really need to stop that pressure to just go along with whatever sex act is promoted by porn because if we don't we are ''prudes'' or ''pearl clutchers''.

There is a lot of information available already for gay and bi men about anal sex but very little for women and it is interesting to see that the difference in the female anatomy can make the act even trickier. That needs to be acknowledged so that they can make an informed decision as to whether they want to do this or not.

I think teenager boys and girls need more support and education to understand the importance of consent and boundaries.

liloandstench · 13/08/2022 08:29

I don't think anal sex is the problem it's men's attitudes.

But at least they’ll know about sex outside the missionary position. That’s what matters.

PollyRockets · 13/08/2022 08:36

@TullyApplebottom

What implications would those be?

That girls and boys are taught how to safely manage all aspects of sexual intercourse?

That children are taught that anal can be dangerous for many and should be discussed and well thought out if they want to try it

The implications are less women with leaky bumholes

What you've been wanting this whole time. But via education over stigmatization

You are projecting, as others have noted too.

Fifife · 13/08/2022 08:43

Whether we like it or not Anal has become mainstream so we should be educating people. Just saying it's disgusting and shameful pushes it underground with people getting their sex education from porn.
