Random men carrying tampons is weird

Just seen a conversation on twitter with men talking about carrying tampons and pads to be helpful if they come across some woman who might need one. I thought it was weird - or am i the weird one?

Yes and the question someone asked was This is what I came to say! Why couldn't he say women? One reason he might say people who menstruate is because he wasn't thinking of supplying sanitary products to people (including women) who don't need them.

You might be happy to work it out, personally as someone who has no womb, no ovaries, no cervix and doesn't menstruate I find it offensive when people use those things to define a woman, I don't menstruate and I am still a woman, I don't have a womb/cervix/ovaries and I am still a woman. A friend of mine had a breakdown after her hysterectomy because she said felt she was no longer a woman. Isn't it nasty to keep pushing that agenda?

There's nothing wrong with saying women who menstruate Hmm. It absolutely does not insinuate that a woman who doesn't, for whatever reason, is not a woman.

What sort of upside down thinking is that?

So why not say 'women who menstruate'? Why is the word 'woman' so offensive? I get that some pretend it's to be inclusive of trans-men but that only works as an explanation if we avoid using the word 'men' to be inclusive of transwomen - but nobody is pushing for that, why?

And what the fuck is girlish squealing. What qualifies it as girlish.
My toddler indulges ingirlish squealing if he sees a butterfly. He's still a boy. Boys are allowed to show excitement. Hope that helps.
And no he's not trans. We don't buy into bullshit stereotypes whether diggers, lattes or butterflies.

@334bu

I was in a meeting with my male colleagues, came out of the toilet after realising I'd come on unexpectedly. I said I'm going to have to go to the shop to get sanitary products, unless any of you have any on you?

And luckily one did in his car.

Simple really, not sure what the fuss is 🙄🤷‍♀️

Asking in that scenario I'd assume it was laregly in jest, not anticipation that John always has some in his drawer for you?

crochetmonkey74 · 06/08/2022 20:58

Performative nice guy bollocks .
Person who menstruates , yuk.
Do something that actually helps women you social media fuckface

GetYourSeasideArmsOffMe · 06/08/2022 20:59

The menopause is a natural normal part of being a woman. The very fact that you go through it makes you a woman. Hope that helps.

Exactly. It's so fucking ironic that the same kinds of posters who are so adamant that being trans doesn't exist and there shouldn't be any gender identity outside of biological sex are in the same breath saying that men can only do MAN things and if they do WOMAN things it's pathetic

Beer me strength Lord.

So we have……
pronouns
people who menstruate
Karen

we nearly have a full house 🙈

Freedomfighters · 06/08/2022 21:00

Sounds like a tampon fetish to me. And using the word people instead of woman tells us everything we need to know. Woke bro. Looking for woke bro accolades.

You do know that only women menstruate right?

So inclusive would be "women and those women who identify differently".

Dehumanizing us by our reproductive actions or body parts is not inclusive to real, born, cunty type women.

GetYourSeasideArmsOffMe · 06/08/2022 21:01

Sorry there should be quotes around girlish squealing.
It's a foul, sexist term I've quoted from someone who belongs in the fifties or a Harry Enfield sketch about the gold.standard.

Bikeybikeface · 06/08/2022 21:02

I’ve never done girlish squealing….am I a man????

Deepclean · 06/08/2022 19:32

It's normal in my kids' secondary school for the boys to carry period products around in case their female friends need them. I think it's rather lovely and took the OP's post in the same spirit, but perhaps I'm missing something

It's neither normal nor lovely, ffs. It would be normal and lovely for the girls to carry extra to share in emergencies, I suppose.
What teenage boy spends his own money on tampons so he can be the knight in shining armour in a situation where a girl is caught short?
An extremely creepy one.

Twattergy · 06/08/2022 21:02

It's be kinda cool if a boyfriend, husband thought to have some in their regular bag to assist if their partner forgot them , a sort of back up. But beyond that...no.

You have poor comprehension skills. I said no such thing.
Boys are allowed to like anything. Ditto girls. It's not hard to understand.

Popsicle33 · 06/08/2022 21:03

It says 2 things - he's either creepy or woke as fuck. Both turn me right off

oakleaffy · 06/08/2022 21:03

BigMamaFratelli · 06/08/2022 19:20

Yeah that's weird.

My mate used to carry tampons, but he was a bouncer and they were in case he or anyone else got stabbed😱

A piece of latex or cling film is much better if it’s a “ Sucking chest wound” so our Biology tutor advised ( Years ago now ,
may be out of date advice)

Wait what?

I was agreeing with you. I was criticising the poster who was taking the piss out of the young men "squealing over pumpkin spice lattes"?

GetYourSeasideArmsOffMe · 06/08/2022 21:05

Ah sorry, I thought it was a darvo.
They think we like stereotypes as much as them.

Be even better if he carried his own shit and a change if clothes for the baby, the keys, the sunscreen, the wet wipes, snacks fir the toddler and the 27 rocks the kids have collected so the wife had room in the bag for her own tampons

Oh lighten up, Francis. We all get to have an an opinion. And as you seem to be the only one here calling names, I’d be careful with that reporting.

Favouritefruits · 06/08/2022 21:13

If I needed a tampon the last thing I’m going to do is ask a random guy if he happens to carry one.

CorvusPurpureus · 06/08/2022 21:14

I posted this before, but yes, my ex husband does have a packet of pads in his glove compartment, apparently.

This is because one of the dds once needed some unexpectedly so they ran into a garage: dd bought a packet & used a pad - they weren't her preferred brand, so the rest of the packet has been driving around for about 4 years now.

Dds think this is hilarious, as they are now mid/late teens & have their sanpro sorted.

I'm assuming xh will bin them at some stage, hopefully before he has teenage dgc in 20 years' time or more 😆.

But he's quite reasonably & legitimately got pads in his car, because he has female teenage dc & they might unexpectedly need a pad Because. That. Did. Actually. Happen. Once when he was the parent-in-charge.

If he was offering them to random women...well, he'd be at best odd,& more likely a fetishist.

C'mon. We ALL know that.

Also - teenage boys carrying sanpro just in case their female buddies need it?! Just no. Doesn't happen. Literally no one wants it to happen, least of all the girls.
