Just seen a conversation on twitter with men talking about carrying tampons and pads to be helpful if they come across some woman who might need one. I thought it was weird - or am i the weird one?

Well yes

Hence why many use inclusive terms, not purposely being a dick is seen in most circles as a positive thing.

Trans men have periods. Thus are as included in this conversation as women

They're included anyway because a trans man is and always will be a woman.

Freedomfighters · 07/08/2022 18:19

I suppose he could have said both women, and women who identify as men. Thats inclusive.

@Ikeasucks there is an entire trans topic

So of course there will be some on the site

And it's usually a good thing for humans to give a shit how other humans feel, shows you have some degree of a soul

Oh look it's the beeee kkiiiiinnnnd command dressed up, but still there.

No I'm not going to be kind to everyone else at my own expense.

Try telling men to be kind, see how well that goes.

It’s the discussion around tampons that I find uncomfortable and fetishist. Interesting that they’re not carrying around ultra thick pads.
It’s different to a father having a box of sanitary products in the back of his car for his daughter who is going through puberty and may be caught out.

HRTQueen · 07/08/2022 19:36

No of course they are not carrying around pads

many men have fetishes that I think women will rather not know about or pretend it’s just they are interests in how women’s bodies work 🙄

"many men have fetishes that I think women will rather not know about"

This is a particularly disgusting one.

Creepy as fuck, woke bullshit

MsBallen · 07/08/2022 20:14

In the opposite of this, i asked my dp and he said he would be really freaked out if a strange woman he didn't know came and asked him for tampons. (Although concluded if it was me or a female relative/friend he would happily buy them for them).

Ikeasucks · 08/08/2022 15:33

What’s also strange is that these men insist it is women who are weird to find this behaviour weird snd creepy - it seems like they just don’t accept the views of the vast majority of women on this

I shivered a little when I read what he posted- creeptacular!

NorthernLights5 · 08/08/2022 16:58

Why would he word it as person who menstruates? Why not just write "if a woman needs it". To me it's even more creepy that he can't bring himself to say woman.

NorthernLights5 · 08/08/2022 17:05

Hence why many use inclusive terms, not purposely being a dick is seen in most circles as a positive thing. You see i think it's "being a dick" when people try to erase the word women.

It isn't inclusive as this doesn't happen to men. They aren't called people who get an erection/people who have a penis etc. Because they aren't trying to erase men, only women and we're told to be kind about it. I've never seen anyone tell a man to be kind. It's sexist, designed for women to shut up, have no opinion and smile.

I can't face reading the whole thread but may I suggest to any men wishing to be helpful that they encourage their workplace, local bar, gym etc, to provide free sanitary products in women's toilets. Then nobody has to ask.

That would be a kind and thoughtful thing to do men, thank you.
