Random men carrying tampons is weird

Ikeasucks · 06/08/2022 19:15

Just seen a conversation on twitter with men talking about carrying tampons and pads to be helpful if they come across some woman who might need one. I thought it was weird - or am i the weird one?

It's normal in my kids' secondary school for the boys to carry period products around in case their female friends need them. I think it's rather lovely and took the OP's post in the same spirit, but perhaps I'm missing something

CurbsideProphet · 06/08/2022 19:33

Is he hanging around outside toilets with his ear against the doors, waiting for the sound of a "person menstruating" and in need of his very special assistance 🙄
As if a woman would ask a random man if he has any tampons. Clearly a fetish.

So do women routinely come rushing out the public loo to loudly declare the need for San Pro? How do these random know random women need them?

sst1234 · 06/08/2022 19:37

He wrote a ‘person who menstruates’. That tells you everything you need to know.

Hoardasurass · 06/08/2022 19:37

Great creepy guy wants woke cookies for being a feminist aly but can't say women

Oh dear.

Maybe some of the 'adults' on this thread could learn some basic tolerance from them

Bitter experience has taught me that people who feel the need to bang on about tolerance and inclusion are often the most judgemental and bigoted.

FOJN · 06/08/2022 19:40

He's not carrying them for women OP, he's carrying them for people who menstruate. Erasing women is a necessary part of being inclusive 🤔

It's a fetish and creepy AF.

But presumably for their mates
So Genny says oh gosh my period just started and Jeff says here, do you prefer tampons or pads?

Not loitering waiting for random girls to bemoan a lack of protection in their loo and them running in to throw tampons over the door to rescue her

Creep hiding behind being a woke bro

Sandysandwich · 06/08/2022 19:43

When I was a teenager my boyfriend used to carry a few in his bag because I forgot them sometimes.
My husband does now.
My dad kept some in his car for me and my sisters if we needed one when we were out of the house
I wouldn't assume creepy, just prepared like a guy who carries a first aid kit in his rucksack or has one of those window breaker tools in his car.
I wouldn't ever go up to a random guy in the street and ask if he had one because its not common that they would but if I was with a group of mates I might say 'oh damn has anyone got a tampon' and wouldnt be that suprised if one of my male friends did- as they mostly have girlfriends too and I'm probablybnot the only forgetful one with a considerate partner

Rosehugger · 06/08/2022 19:44

Ugh. Sounds like a fetish.

Squiff70 · 06/08/2022 19:44

"A person who menstruates"?

Biggest red flag on the planet. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with "being helpful to women".

Fucking weirdo!

I just asked my Teens about this.
DS laughed and said “no way”
DD looked a bit queasy

Luredbyapomegranate · 06/08/2022 19:46

He’s either taking the piss (probably) or it’s a fetish

No one says menstruates as part of normal chat (even now)

Not concerned in the slightest

It’s white knighting.
