Bit of Filler... husband furious!

Aibu?

Went for my 6 monthly Botox treat today and decided to have a tiny bit of filler in my lips.
They are currently swollen and look bigger than they will in a few days - but by no means a trout pout!
Well my husband and eldest child have gone absolutely mad at me. They can barely look at me!
They are furious!
I can't believe my appearance causes them so much anguish when they barely look at me in normal circs!
Said I look like I'm off TOWIE trying to be 20 and ridiculous...
Husband is really really cross. I feel like I'm 15 again!
I by the way, love it!
Just turned 50 and have 4 kids...

I just felt like looking after me and trying something new.
Aibu - it's up to me? My face, my choice?!?

’Cop onto yourself’ - a phrase I had to look up. Yes. Somewhat daft of me to widen the discussion. I failed to read the room.

@NickHS

i don’t know about failing to read the room, but associating OPs bit of filler with Michael Jackson is SUCH a leap and a bit silly of you

Grapewrath · 05/08/2022 12:23

Nobody gets to be ‘furious’ with you for doing something to your own face. I’d tell him to get fucked

Loopysu · 05/08/2022 13:50

So 7 years ago I quit smoking as I have been diagnosed with COPD. My partner quit with me. I moved house and we agreed that no guests were allowed to smoke in the house. So family and friends had to go out to smoke.
6 months ago he started smoking again. I hate the smell of it. I have asked him to quit again, he says he is not ready. Now he is sneakily having a smoke in the bathroom and the kitchen. I feel like he has no consideration for my health. I am at my wit's end as to what to do. Should I ask him to leave. I have expressed my concern to him time and time again. My mother died from this disease and it really hurts me that he has no intention of quitting.

Hrpuffnstuff1 · 05/08/2022 14:17

I'm off to buy an Audi TT RS. If dp objects I'll tell her to get fucked.😂

I'm not sure telling each other to get fucked is in the Gottman recipe for a long and fruitful marriage.😂

Really? If your partner tattooed his eyeballs and cheeks and pierced it in 7 places you wouldn't even raise an eyebrow?

Chinny reckon

Distract him from his smoking habit with some fillers and botox.

Well it's funny you should say that. Recently on holiday I commented on a lady next to us who had wonderful boobs. My husband was all up for me having a lift! I wouldn't go that far - to go under anaesthesia but he mentioned it later and said he'd be happy to pay.
Double standards?

WTF

underneaththeash · 02/08/2022 22:57

It always looks quite trouty though…they probably just didn’t want you to look bad

No, it really, really doesn’t . Done subtly, it just ‘auto corrects’, as it were, tbe thinning of lips with age. OP has just had a rea ruin to tbe filler tbat will settle down.

Solonge · 05/08/2022 16:20

A bit of filler doesn't make you body dysmorphic.? ..what does it suggest? Im a nurse and worked in a plastics clinic once...including fillers... just felt depressed every day...no one does this once...it's addictive....

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 05/08/2022 16:21

< ^sorry, reaction, not ruin > !!

Like hair colouring?

GettingStuffed · 05/08/2022 16:25

@WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps my husband definitely prefers me without make up, I don't look better with it, I look exactly the same but coloured in

Loopysu · 05/08/2022 17:37

I know, I am sorry

MolliciousIntent · 02/08/2022 22:38

Tbh I'd be pretty freaked out if my partner suddenly turned up having had something like that done without mentioning it!

Its not that big of a deal I don't think these days. People just pop out to get their lips done alot (I'm not one of them)

DillDanding · 06/08/2022 18:27

I saw a woman at the gym this morning, she’s had filler in her lips. Her top lip now sticks out over the bottom one. This is not a good look - even on Victoria Beckham.

MrsDThomas · 06/08/2022 19:55

@DillDanding my colleague looks like this and when I look at her side profile, i ask my self “why the fuck?” She looks absolutely ridiculous.

and the worst thing is, she doesn’t understand why people look at her and stare.

that is why. Its an awful image

milkyaqua · 07/08/2022 00:49

It's the weird shininess that gets me.

LikeAStar1994 · 07/08/2022 01:15

Personally I wouldn't have lip filler and Botox. Not my thing. But it's clearly your thing. Your husband is entitled to his opinion but being furious and angry is just plain stupid and childish. I'm guessing he's not speaking to you now? Your face, your opinion. I'm sure you look good.

We live for ourselves. Not for others. So do what you want!

LikeAStar1994 · 07/08/2022 01:16

Sorry that was meant to say "Your face, your choice"

I shouldn't post after midnight 😂

Always amazes me how many women on here tell their husbands to fuck off or get fucked etc, do you advise men to tell their wives to fuck off if they don’t like their husbands big shaggy beard he’s decided to grow on a whim or a face tattoo he decided to get and didn’t mention?

BellePeppa · 07/08/2022 08:20

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 05/08/2022 16:22

Strange comparison.

5128gap · 07/08/2022 20:53

No stranger than you comparing a temporary, reversible procedure to achieve slightly fuller lips, with the permanent and extreme modification to appearance of a facial tattoo.

You said u already get Botox so if ur husband isn’t fussed about that I don’t see the problem in a little filler.

as for the boob job that’s a bit like pot calling the kettle black, that is a lot more dangerous so he would rather let u risk complications from that than have a little filler. Yeah coz that makes sense 🤔

This thread truly shows how much women hate women. What a bunch of bitches. No wonder our sex is being eroded, we can't even be civilised with each other. Think before you post.
