To think MILF is not a fucking compliment?

I went out out the other weekend to a very ‘young’ bar locally. I got very sweetly chatted up by a fetching young man of 22 (I’m 42 and very happily married).

It all went a bit sour when he said I’m a ‘right MILF’ and was put out when I turned on my heel and walked off.

This is not a compliment, right? I was very much enjoying the confidence boost of a strapping young lad showing interest and then he completely fucking ruined it 🤣

Being a school boy of the 80s, (and preceding American Pie referenced above by over a decade) I feel that the meaning has changed (and it’s probably right that American Pie added to the ‘popularity’ of MILF)

Back then it was directed at your friends mothers, and to a handful of the fit mums.
It wasn’t a term that lasted much after age 16, and an ‘adult’ wouldn’t have used it

Time has moved on, it’s pretty much just a porn term now and in some cases when a ‘celebrity’ gives birth she gets classified as a MILF just because she’s a mother. (Which arguably has the ILF part superfluous - for the ‘proper’ definition you should not be a MILF until your child’s generations hormones kick in)

As a compliment / insult just as many other things it is going to depend on context and who it comes from.

MILF is misogynistic objectification at best, and also indicative that the person (usually male) using it watches too much porn. Mostly, it’s a gross and reductive term.

It’s so not a compliment, and why anyone would be flattered to be called one is beyond me 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s a very crude way of saying that you’re attractive, that’s why.

I’m afraid it’s not just used by men either, DD and her friends understand it and use it. it’s an immature teen thing.

I’d say a 22 year old would be looking to expand their sexual experience with every variety of term that’s available in porn: probably have a list of sexual goals that they want to tick off: MILF, threesome, the inevitable ‘I managed to make a lesbian straight’ fantasy. Probably also 50 shades of gray or something like that.

I am very very willing to believe 22 year old boys are capable of great stupidity in the pursuit of sex.

I don’t find the acronym itself particularly offensive, to me it just means an attractive woman with a big age gap - he meant it as you’re attractive and and evidently older than him; you didn’t like your age difference being emphasised in that context. It only refers to the age difference though, not that you’re old or expected to be unattractive - I personally think that I and most of my friends (early 40s) look better now than we did 20 years ago, better sense of our own style, presence, confidence, etc.
