Didn't think much of the christmas special.

One of the best comedies in years, so well observed. My favourite was the awful Xmas school fair or whatever it was meant to be (season 1 I think) when Liz made the awful punch and Amanda auctioned kisses! The expression on Julia's face when she sampled the punch was priceless.

In the pilot episode, Julia eating the spag bol scraps as well. Clutching the wall in relief that she had eaten 😂

it is a perennial and Kathryn Ryan has made several observations about the north London school mum cliques.

Hahaha I love Motherland. Chose not to be a mother but all the characters are funny. Julia is my favourite. I’m sad it’s finished.

It’s excellent TV, I binged watched all 3 seasons over lockdown and then watched all 3 seasons again. Sharon Horgan is an excellent writer, best we don’t mention the other hated Irish writer of the show though. 😉

I think one of my favourite lines is when Amanda is talking about the assistant in her store and the character she’s speaking to says Amanda could be her mother if she had her at 24. Amanda says “but I couldn’t of had her when I was 24; I did a ski season in Val D’isere when I was 24.”
