I love this programme! One of my favourite things is the relationship between Julia and Mrs Lamb (?). I love the bits when Julia has left shoe shopping too late and her daughter has gone into school in 'non-regulation footwear', and at sports day when Julia is trying to delay the dads' race so Kevin can get there in time
Favourite quote though is Liz when talking to her ex about his new partner. He says he doesn't go out with psychos, and she says 'what you talking about, of course you f-ing do!'

Julia is so selfish and hugely annoying. Liz is so cool.

Love the series. I know a Liz in real life, every time I see Motherland I think of her, totally something she would say/do.

There’s a dad at my kid’s school who does a lot of pickups. He has floppy curly hair and rides a bike. I’ve no idea what’s he’s actually like but he’s totally Kevin in my mind.

i love the episode with Joanna Lumley as Amanda’s mother - I actually felt sorry for Amanda in that episode

I'm mostly a Liz with a hint of Anne. Basically, my kid can be fairly feral (as long as he's being kind) and the house is an unorganized tip, but I am a people pleaser that people tend to take advantage of.

Might give this another watch tonight.

I love the contrast of AMM's roles between Motherland and LoD. Found it quite impressive. Even though I know she's an actress and it's her job.

Motherland is one of my all time favourite shows, I re-watch them all the time. I’m a Julia and have just done the quiz and yep, came up as Julia.

I adore Motherland! What makes me laugh a lot though, is when you have the conversation in real life about which character people relate to…the number of people who say they’re a Liz but are really an Amanda makes me chuckle! I’m probably mostly an Anne!

Absolutely love it. Kept rewatching the pool party episode. When Liz said Julia looked like Hilary Clinton!

Ive never met anyone like any of the characters, they are all like annoying cartoon not real people

Is it because I don't like in London or any any big city. Everyone I met when my children were at primary school were normal people

The episode where Amanda accuses her husband of flirting with her and she was like oh I asked him to as I felt sorry for you babe- hahaha brilliant.

The pool party one is my favorite one ! ( series one) so funny.

Julia but also the black lady who was in the third series. Depending on the time of the month!!

I love Motherland. I want to be friends with Liz. I work at school and there is definitely an Amanda among the mums or a mumtrepeneur as she puts it.

I am Julia and Meg rolled into one.

I really love motherhood and have enjoyed every series but my children’s school is nothing like the one in the show and the mums are not a bit like any of the mums portrayed in the programme, I’m not inline with any of the characters, anyone else feel the same?

Well someone on a thread the other day literally said “I’ve had everything from my upper lip downwards lasered off” …so maybe!

I see myself as Liz but I’m sure the other mums see me as an Amanda. I consider them all Anne.

I fucking hate Julia with a passion and I cannot understand how all these women say they are like Julia as if this is some sort of claim to fame and attractive quality - it is seriously seriously not.
