AIBU to shove this paper plate up the Vinted seller’s arse?

Ordered some Nike Air Jordan’s for my DD’s birthday from Vinted.

The package arrived today, except what I actually received was a folded up paper plate in a tiny mailing bag.

Please reassure me that I haven’t lost all my money because I can’t afford to get her anything else. Have just reported to Vinted. I know on eBay it’s easy enough for sellers to scam people by sending an empty box or whatever so I’m hoping this isn’t the same.

Second time today I've seen this has happened! First time was in a Facebook group earlier when a poster bought an expensive pair of shoes by a country brand and received a paper plate.

There are so many scammers on vinted now, esp with in demand items, you can often (but not always) spot them if they have no feedback and are selling a hard to find item for a too good price

Just looked back and the seller messaged pretty much straight away after I’d bought it. He said they’d be sent out by noon the next day. Later the next day it wasn’t showing as shipped, so I messaged him. He replied saying that the item had been sent but the tracking information may be delayed. And then the day after that it appeared. Probably should have been suspicious then but I’m very new to Vinted so didn’t know any better. Now when I look at the thread of messages the shipping tracking info has vanished. It was definitely still there earlier this evening, along with a message from Vinted saying my parcel had been delivered, that’s gone too now.

Never been on Vinted. 2 days isn't long to log a complaint. What if there was a delay with the post or the seller doesn't post at all? Was thinking of trying Vinted, won't touch it with a bargepole now.

Worst case scenario, small claims court the fuckers. They've given the game away with the parcel weight, so thick cunty and utter scum to boot. Keep ALL correspondence with Vinted/Scummy Cunt etc.

I never said a NT child would be bowled over with joy at receiving a paper plate for their birthday but that seems to be how you’ve interpreted it.

@VintedShminted Vinted are shite for buyer protection. As much maligned as Ebay is, it's a safe trading means.

@MichelleScarn you really are on the ball! Sadly I’m not that clever, although I did input the tracking number into my Evri app when it was still on the thread so I have a record of it there.

Report the seller to Vinted too ( top right)

Not really on the ball, just cynical! 😆message vinted just now with the 'I.have a problem' button. Clearly it's a current scam so they should be quick. I'll keep you updated re my refund.

@MichelleScarn thank you, please do. I’m too bloody gullible for my own good, clearly. Just feel like I’m fighting an uphill battle in life at the moment and didn’t have the energy to question it.

Reminds me of a Judge Judy case where a woman had paid for a new mobile from ebay and she got a photo of the phone! The seller actually went onto TV to argue that that was what she'd bought, she saw a picture, she got a picture!

Agree my autistic child would be a nightmare if this happened and once he’s gotten himself into a state he can’t listen to any reason or explanation so we’d prob end up with him being in a complete meltdown possibility attacking people or trying to smash things in the house cus he’s lost all control, but hey that’s the same as most nt children isn’t it and mentioning autism is just an excuse

I have also been subject to the scam! Twice by two people.. a bag and shoes and one paper plate one cheap pair of sunglasses. I’ve reported this to Vinted and also said everything isn’t right with the order. How long has it taken people to resolve as it’s coming up to 48 hours? One of the sellers has also been blocked from Vinted.

I'm sorry this happened but very glad you've shared. I've just emptied my basket and won't be buying a thing from there.

I saw another similar thread on here about being sent a paper plate on Vinted instead of a Bose headset...is this a wind up ?

5-I got one instead of a handbag today. Asked for a refund but not got a response yet. What a sad person they must be to do this.
