Should not have been in the ladies changing room? Especially if naked from the waist down.

I can imagine being very frightened in this situation as a biological woman having to share a changing room with a man.

@Perlunk
At no point did anyone say a penis was sighted/flashed/flaunted/waved.

Exactly. It’s saddening how posters are falling over themselves to demonise this TW as some predatory flasher by fabricating events.

Apart from the comments made outside the changing room which DID mention a penis. Oh but that doesn't suit your sexual assault apologise now does it?

"Naked from the waist down" is the kind of phrase HR people would say to clearly imply there was a penis on display without upsetting the employee accused of doing so.

I bet the women complaining probably said they had their cock out.

PurpleDaisies · 20/07/2022 09:07

I think this is where keeping the main point the main point is helpful. Nobody with a penis should be in a women only space whether they’re waving or around or not.

bellabasset · 20/07/2022 09:08

Women are entitled to have a safe space, some women have religious reasons or are pregnant or hormonal and need their privacy respected.

While a person is transitioning perhaps they could respect that and not intentionally be disrespectful.

For me even if I didn't feel a treat to my safety I would still not be comfortable with a male in the women's changing rooms whether it be for full or part changing or using the toilets .
I also don't think it makes any difference if they were changing discreetly or not, as this suggests its ok as long as they are discreet.
What if they are post surgery ?

The volume of wrong information repeated as fact on this thread is awful.

if you’re going to comment or judge, at least go scan the tribunal report and read what actually was described.

The abuse of the trans person, which the trust accept happened, was repellent and totally inexcusable.

At no point did anyone say a penis was sighted/flashed/flaunted/waved.

The glossing over of actual transphobic behaviours, right along with demonisation of a trans person with invented behaviours, is not OK.

I can’t open the tribunal link but from the Times Article in the first post…

An employment tribunal in Leeds was told that the transgender woman — who cannot be identified – was quizzed by a manager about her underwear after concerns were raised that she had been naked from the waist down in the women’s changing room

So it’s not correct to say that nobody said a penis was sighted. This is why posters have been talking about that.

I agree that the abuse of that person was awful. The trust totally screwed up by letting them use the women’s changing room.

This about what happens when the most privileged section of society willingly self-ID as a minority, but still feel their innate male entitlement gives them the right to invade single-sex spaces.

I can't open any of thr links in the OP but does this work?

"At no point did anyone say a penis was sighted/flashed/flaunted/waved."

A man with a visible unerect penis in a women's single sex space is still flashing. A person who doesn't identify as a man whose unerect penis is visible in a women's single sex space is flashing.

AlisonDonut · 20/07/2022 09:16

The monitors must be getting RSI today what with all the reporting of male genitals in female changing rooms.

Surely if this is all ok, they wouldn't feel the need to report it every time?

So it is either ok or it needs to be deleted in which case, it isn't ok and they know it.

Weird.

oviraptor21 · 20/07/2022 09:17

Nope

If it still doesn't work then it's a Times problem sadly

I was going to add to thread with the same. Someone with a penis doesn't belong in a women's space. A woman should feel safe and comfortable in a space that was originally meant for us.

Yes please do go and read the judgement and make your own assessment of the character concerned and the reliability of their testimony regarding the "incidents"

Lapland123 · 20/07/2022 09:23

If this happened where I work, I would encourage all the women to be signed off with stress. And let it be very clear the cause of the stress. No woman in a communal room trying to get changed for theatre or whatever should have to experience this exhibitionist/flasher

It's 100% not transphobic for women to ask for, and expect, dignity in what used to be their own private spaces. Which were originally designated as such for reasons of privacy and safety.

Is women asking for dignity, privacy, and safety transphobic then? Give me a huge fucking break.

JudgeRindersMinder · 20/07/2022 09:24

Flaunch · 20/07/2022 06:29

Penises have no place in woman’s spaces regardless of how they identify.

I 100% agree, will not change my
mind and will not apologise for it either

CoolAir · 20/07/2022 09:27

I've been in many nhs changing rooms and I've never seen anyone remove their pants.
I wonder why this person needed to do that?

If I was more suspicious I might think it was an attempt to turn a thread on a high traffic board into Swiss cheese in the hope it would be deleted. As you say it's weird, why would anyone be worried about discussion of a case which highlights how women are bigoted for objecting to penises in female changing rooms. I mean they're on the right side of history after all and the surveys the campaigners and lobbyists pay for all show that the majority of people are fine with it and the women raising concerns here are just a hateful minority.

TheKeatingFive · 20/07/2022 09:29

I see we have the common issue on this thread of posters screaming TRANSPHOBIC and then running away rather than engage in any informed debate.

It's a pathetic approach. If you actually feel that, come and make your points.
