Are you walking around barefoot alot?

ParmaLily · 19/07/2022 23:02

Only on the carpet at home. I wear my crocs in the kitchen or running into the back garden.

Flexitol heel balm and a referral to podiatrist who attends to diabetes feet will help a lot. Do you have much sensation apart from the thickened skin (where I guess you won’t feel much)?

steff13 · 19/07/2022 23:03

I was also going to ask if you go barefoot a lot.

user143677433 · 19/07/2022 23:03

Looks more like callouses (sp?) and you’ve had a long soak in the bath?

ParmaLily · 19/07/2022 23:04

I just got out of the shower so my feet are wet too. X

Are you diabetic?

Di you attend a podiatrist?

It looks like hard dry skin that has macerated in water.

RioDJ · 19/07/2022 23:05

Are you diabetic?

ParmaLily · 19/07/2022 23:08

Not that I know of but I am worried as since I had HG I drink 8 cans of Diet Coke a day :/

Be careful you don’t end up with cellulitis as your feet look infected. The type of shoes you mention are not great for Summer, they are a breeding ground for infection. Cellulitis develops into sepsis if left untreated. (Nothing to do with cellulite).

TrashyPanda · 19/07/2022 23:09

Are you diabetic?

i had huge callouses, built up over years.
used to pumice them, but it never made much of a difference.
live now switched to using foot cream every night (any brand, cheap ones are just fine) and pumicing twice a week.

my feet transformed within a week.

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 19/07/2022 23:09

Firstly are you diabetic and if you are do you attend your yearly foot check?
What do you use on your feet. My nurse advised me to moisturise and exfoliate my feet and monitor them daily for issues.
how long have they been like this?

justforthisnow · 19/07/2022 23:11

Have you any type of diagnosed diabetes or had you any during pregnancy?
Are you overweight (asking because of type 2 diabetes risk)
High blood pressure?
I don't think that's callouses, tbh.
But not sure it fits a diabetic diagnoses either.

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 19/07/2022 23:12

Drinking 8 cans of Diet Coke does not make you a diabetic. But you may want to get yourself checked out.
Honestly it looks as though you just don’t take care of your feet - do you? Diabetic or not you should look after your feet.
I’d recommend the okeefes foot cream. Which is really effective and suitable for diabetics

FarmerRefuted · 19/07/2022 23:13

Diet Coke doesn't give you diabetes.

If you're worried then you should see your GP, you can ask for a blood test to check whether you are diabetic.

ParmaLily · 19/07/2022 23:13

It’s only started recently but I’ve been lathering my feet in all sorts of lotions and potions to no avail.

I cannot actually walk as the pain is so intense tonight and I don’t really know what to do.

Burnedoutdr · 19/07/2022 23:13

Diet coke doesn't even have sugar in (even if drinking coke did give you diabetes).

Burnedoutdr · 19/07/2022 23:13

You have dry feet.

Topgub · 19/07/2022 23:14

If you're not diabetic you can't have 'diabetic feet'

Its just hard skin

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 19/07/2022 23:15

Go see a doctor or a podiatrist.

also if you do get a diabetic diagnosis you need to know that some foot creams are not suitable for those with diabetes.

ParmaLily · 19/07/2022 23:16

My husband thinks I should
go to A&E as it’s so painful, scale 8/10 perhaps? And worried they’re septic feet.

As much as I loved my Crocs for ultimate comfort they seemed to leave my feet looking like yours, as do certain sandals.
You could maybe do with getting a pumice foot file and giving your feet a bit of a pamper. CCS foot cream while not the cheapest is really good, or any containing UREA.
Wear a pair of cotton socks to bed once feet have been pampered and see if this makes a difference.

britneyisfree · 19/07/2022 23:17

Ouch!!! Based on your updates, maybe it's infected.

If you can't walk, personally id say that's an emergency but I'm not an A&E medic!
